This. GDC isn't supposed to be a press event to introduce new games. People just think it is, because M$ tools pulled P.R. stunts in the past to hype games at GDC despite such practice being frowned upon at GDC.

Yes, thanks for agreeing, I love how people were expecting lots of games announced, if only they knew what GDC stands for.
Its a Game Developer Conference. Its not there to announce exciting new games like E3 is...

The point of GDC is to do reveals on things like CryEngine 3... technology that developers will be interested in learning about.
E3 is for the consumers, GDC is for the developers.

And supposedly this years E3 will return to the old style E3 from a few years back. I have high hopes for E3 this year. IMO Microsoft is saving all they're unannounced titles for E3. Exactly, they said they want to surprise us, I can't wait for it. I don't care about Sony for E3 because they have way too many games and I'll like to see what Nintendo can do.
I blame the game media and the publishers, because where once developers had a place to go to discuss thier techniques and visions, now we have announcements of games like its E3. Developers need a forum that is devoid of press, and the gossiping mouths of the fanboys.
Well while GDC is not E3 i enjoyed a lot of the announcements as it showed theres more coming, and Nintendo had a big bang overall and some new tech as well, so imo i did enjoy the GDC. Now getting ready for E3 the TGS!

I know your pain. I've been saying the same yet people still seem to feel the need of posting the bazillion games they wanted to see annouced.
Yea I feel the same. Most people just dont understand whats the difference between GDC and E3. They just think " Oh devlopers are coming together BIG GAME ANNOUNCMENTS AHOY!"

What if I ment that I actually do care a little? But as a whole I don't care at all? :shock: I cared enough to talk about it, I cared about the series before but now my caring of the series is a lot less. Prove me wrong :o
