Considering the amount of praise the game received as well as winning GOTY from many reputable sources I would say you fail at life and in your argument. Please leave sir.

The story was horse **** but its a fun addicting online experience. Epic nailed that fun factor that lasts. Like i said, Gears is like the Halo of 3rd person shooters.

I just hope Cliffy gets over him self and cuts down on the cheesy dialog, tho.

I really thought the first one was good at its time but was ovarrated but I am kind of anxcious to see how the second one turns out to be because of the new added characters and all and I hear the story should be pretty bad a** this time around.

What was the problem with the story? I think it was perfect. The characters were amusing with great one-liners and the story never got in the way of the action. It was entertaining and concise.

9.6, GOTY, with several different online/multiplayer modes, and arguable the best mechanics of any 3rd person shooter, doesn't sound like much of a rental.opex07

No, the story isn't of high quality. However, frankly, I don't care - the game rocks. Moreover, it's pretty much better than Halo 3.

very sad.....its safe to say that even in some cases an opinion can be wrong, and your opinion, while your opinion, is flat out wrong.

On another note, we should all start pointing out that Geow also stands for Geometry Wars lol.

It's a fun shooter but doesn't deserve those AAA reviews, nor the awards it got.

You can't be serious. :? Gears had the most glitchiest multiplayer I have ever seen in my entire life.

i guess since cows don't have a AAAE game or GOTY they don't see the fun in them.

Wow to all these people thinking PS3 owners aren't having fun/not playing good games. I'm playing great games, don't know what all of you are talking about. :?

On topic, Gears was a very high-rated shooter upon its release. Add to that the amazing visuals and good gameplay and it was a fun game. I can't wait for the sequel and see what they bring to the table: better storytelling and more game. I don't really care about online so... yeah...

I'm not saying they they shouldn't enjoy them :shock:

But i find it hard to believe that they are somehow still playing the campaign that can be finished in 2 hours or multiplayer that's is nothing short of "look at me chainsaw this guy"

To me the GOTY had nothing to do with me buying it or in my overall opinion of the game, it will always just be eye candy for the neurotic FPS fan-base.

With the general "rush everything" tactic that most FPS players have, I seriously doubt it. "Covered Position" is as foreign a term as "Ammunition Conservation"

I put well over 100 hours online in that "rental" game.

When GeOW first came out I hadn't even heard of it, i was playing FFXII... It's got a pretty great single player, I probably could get my fix from it in a rental though, esp if the SP is 6 hours long again, MP just isn't as fun as the CoD4s, Resistances, Halos and such...f50p90
