Gears2 is pretty much the same as Gears1. A small, almost unnoticeable improvement of graphics, 2 or 3 new guns and some new enemies. Not worth AAA ill tell you that, will get an 8.5 at max and thats only because Gears of War is in the title.
Resistance 2 also wont be all that either (this coming from a cow who will still be buying the game). Im in the beta and i gotta say it is a fun game but still short of a AAA (although it is only the beta so maybe the final product will be better). The co-op is definately a fun new mode in the game but can be pretty annoying because of the certain enemies that are so easy to kill but just have so much health. why am shotting at a single enemy who is barely even moving for over 5 minutes? Graphics havent really improved from R1. Competative mode is OK. Will also score about a 8.5.
If either of these games score AAA i will be shocked.

i say rainbow land 4 will be better then gears or r2..
The co-op in R2 is amazing. The bosses don't move much but it is getting fixed. If the single player is as good as the multiplayer, i think it's AAA worthy.

You're saying that it will ONLY get an 8.5 as it has Gears of War in the name, yet the first was AAA.
If it wasn't called Gears Of War, it would score what?
As it does have GeOW in the name, many consider it an expansion, as some think it brings little new to the table. Minus the name it would be a different game, and therefore worthy of an AAA review.
It would be crime for Resistance 2 to not get AAA status. I think Gears is a lock for AAA unless the story (yes, it might have one this time) completely sucks (yes, worse than the first).

Gears of War 2 will be the better game than Resistance 2 becuase Gears 2 has a real co op mode

:? have you played the beta? i doubt it if your trying to say R2 doesnt have a "real co op mode". aside from the bosses barely moving and them having way to much health its the best co-op ive played so far to be honest and much better then the co-op in both R1 and Gear1.

i dont know about geow2, but r2 looks like at least 9.0 material from the beta alone.they will both be AAA most likely, maybe one will be 9.5 and the other 9.0.

Well, Since I own a PS3 and a Wii, and not a 360. I can say that Resistance 2 will be a AAA, I can"t say for Gears 2, since i hardly care for it. I think that Resistance 2 will easily get a 9+ due to the fact that the 1st one got an 8.6 and seeing how much they have improved everything since the 1st one, im guessing anywhere to a 9.3-9.6 imo.
