[QUOTE="Sully28"][QUOTE="Aljosa23"]Okay, let me get this straight. You guys want sequels to be radically different than the previous installment, while games like Nuts and Bolts is totally different then the N64 games you people want them to go back to the old, archaic formula? :|
You have got to be kidding me.
You obviously haven't play Gears 2 because it is defianetly a sequel and has tons of new gameplay elements like the meatshield, new executions and an awesome depth. Games like Wrath of the Lich King are expansion packs.

Resistance 2 was very different from resistance 1, many changes for the better, some for the worse. They took a risk, but they made changes that made it FEEL like a sequal, a very good one at that.
Metal Gear Solid Series, almost every installment has distinct improvments over the other, MGS4 having the most. The gameplay, shooting, sneaking, CQC, everything in the game was basically changed around, even the controls. It felt like a sequal becaue of this. It set it self apart from the others and it was great. Every MGS game does this and it works.
If you want more examples feel free to ask.Â

TC wanted a change in core gameplay. The way I see it is that would have meant changing R2 into a RTS or MGS4 into an FPS. No that is not it, it is changing the game enough to make it different. Changing a game like half life 2 into a RTS would be changing the entire game itself, the only left intact would be the name and similarities like characters and enemies from the game. That is like making a entire new game, the TC isnt talking about that.Â
