and poor Resistance 3 sold only a few.... Microsoft's focus is to focus on a few core games which will sell a lot. Sony's focus is to release a better amount of games, which might not sell a lot. Which one is better?ShadowDeathX

Awesome, its great to see an actual GREAT mainstream game sell well, instead of the yearly COD or Madden Garbage.

Gears3 really is impressive, it runs very well, has so many coop modes, the best versus in the series and a fun campaign.

Did I mention it all runs very well and looks gorgeous? For me its up there with HEavy Rain as the most impressive console games this gen.

Yeh he seems to have a problem with the 360 and it having good games. His chart was meaningless in the end and who really keeps track of how many A-AA-AAA games a console has :P

On Forza 4. The demo is out on the 3rd and from that you can try the game out and see if it's worth going for. I myself am a bit biased as I love the series and would recommend the game to anyone who likes cars.

On topic, Gears 3 deserves it. It's a truly fantastic game.

Wow. Just got done playing a Versus match and I have to say the people on Gears 3 who use their mics are some of the most awesome people on XBL. everyone works together as a team and winning a match like that is so satisfying. They even respect other people's kills, only taking when the teamate says to. Of course most of the people w/o mics dont act this way, but their are usually a respectable number in each game.

keep in mind Gears is the only exclusive 360 has had in a year, so 3mil in a week is a joke, i would have expected 5-6mil in a week

Sony and Insomniac are probably jealous of this. Didn't R3 only do like 200k?

Judging by the trailer for Overstrike, it doesn't look too great. There's also not much hype/interest for R&C All 4 One either

I'm a proud contributor to that figure. :) I just wish Microsoft had more similar offerings in the way of kick-ass exclusives.

i think that 360 fans should be a bit more concerned about the desaturation of xbox exclusives. you guys get a select few exclusives that sell massively, but where is the genre diversity? where are the new IPs? where is the wide range of exclusive developers?

if you look at the metascore AAA titles for the 360, all of them are atributed to 3 developers. "bungie," "epic games" and "turn 10." its halo, gears, and forza. thats it. an FPS series, a TPS series, and a racing series. that is a very narrow selection but they sell extremely high. so there is little economic reason for microsoft to seek out other exclusive devs. thus you have a massive ammount of desaturation and a lack of selection.

on the other hand, if you look at the PS3 AAA exclusives, they include an FPS series, 2 TPS series, a platforming series, a hack-n-slash series, and a sports series. and these games are made by six different developers. and thats not even getting into the massively diverse AA titles.

SP, I could see someone making the argument, although I wouldn't agree with it. MP, not even close. I would take a broken gears MP experience over any Resisntance game's MP hands down.

You are only in the minority as far as people who have played both to see which one is actually better. FoM was better in every way than GeoW 1, and R2 was better in every way than GeoW 2.

As for the third entries, I don't know. I haven't played Gears 3, and probably won't. From what I understand, the online works (shocker), which makes it a major upgrade to previous Gears games. Of course, Resistance 3's online doesn't, which makes it a major downgrade. I wouldn't be surprised if Gears wins this round.

If Resistance 3's online ever gets sorted out, that may change though.
