Gears 3 sold over 3 million in its first week

thats the last update as of december 31st 2010. So it might be inching close to the 7.5 million mark if its not pass that yet. Thats minus heavy bundling and platinum re-releases

No differen than FPS games, which sell a few hundred thousand here, a couple million there, and then a whole bunch of shooter fans go and buy CoD.

GT is just the CoD of racing games. Most racing game fans will buy it, and plenty of people only buy GT.

Well it does seem you were implying that but wonder why you don't attack him when he says such nonsense then. Also I never said ALL 360 exclusives are overrated in comparison to PS3 exclusives, I was talking of Halo in the other thread. And even then I think overrateness is a matter of opinion, I even have said that I find that MGS4 is overrated here. Although I don think western reviewers tend to rate shooter games higher than other genres just because of the influence while in other places like Japan it might be different. So you also have to stop assuming so much and you might want to take your own advice and apply it to yourself.

I don't get the excuse "It's the only 360 exclusive this year, so it should have sold a ton". If you're a 360-ONLY owner then you were also purchasing every multiplat, and arcade title to come to the system right? It's not as if my friends, who own just a 360, were waiting around for 10 months with 0 360 games to play.... All it takes is a look at the monthly sales, and it's quite apparent the 360 is still selling the most software even if it's just multiplats. 360 gamers are playing games regardless of if they're exclusive or not... But I guess that's damage control for you. Anyways I can't wait to play this game! My friend is waiting to borrow his brother's copy, so that we can play on both his xbox consoles with our own individual screens. It's my friends' rule :( He hates splitscreenLy_the_Fairy

I'd say take it the way you wanna take it but GT5 and GTpro are both the same game, they put a demo for retail and over 5mil ppl bought it. GT5 should be between 11 and 12 mil or heck could be higher nobody knows, im not even a fan of GT5 and showing how monster that series is, heck why are we talking about GT5 anyways? :P thought this was a gears topic. once MW3 is out expect gears 3 to be embty, heck every other online game will be embty once the real monster releases this year that is CoD. for a multiplatform game expect the 360 version alone to be over 5 mil on first week
