not sure about that, I think that may go to MGS4, they put a lot into that game. Plus, Gears 2 will be a sequel. It will be one of the best games of the yeah, but may not break new ground.

yesterday most people expected gears 2 to be released this year but noone put it as GOTY. now that has been confirmed its suddenly GOTY, yet we've still seen nothing about it. Seriously, I just dont get it.

Oh trust me, a few did. All we (or anyone) can get from this game by looking at the trailer is chainsaw battles, which isn't much, really. I guess the lems are desperate for their 2008 lineup. Especially when they compared XNA to Littlebig Planet. :lol:

I am not bashing it...but I rather have a new IP get GOTY than a sequal or at least a sequal to a game longer than 3 years old. I am a fan of innovation rather than hype.

Starcraft will have something to say about that.

Now, I'm by no means a market analyst, but I think, and I could be wrong, so stop me if that's the case... but I think it might be a bit early to declare a GOTY 2008 Winner.

The only problem is I dont see them changing the gameplay, a chainsaw battle? thats all they will change. its just going to be gears of War, with a new story imo.
