The competition between the two for GOTY in 08 is probaly going to be between GeOW2 for 360 and either MGS 4, Resistence 2, or Killzone 2 for PS3.

honestly dude, I think we will all live, and how do you get screwed? by the time PC owners get it with extra levels, we will have moved on to the next game, don't think its that big of a deal, but if it really upsets you, I guess I will have to respect that.

GeOW2 confirmed for 2008 and Ninja Gaiden 2 save films ability and much more is like a suprise crotch grab twist it around attack.

Then again I don't think sony has done thier's as yet so we have yet to see, they may have some tricks as well. Good showing from MS though this is a nice surprise. The NG2 thing I mean, I'm pretty sure most of us thought Gears two was gonna be announced.

This could be a wonderful game if they tweak the formula enough. Im still playing through the first game and ill say this now, ill be happy to take a graphical downgrade for the sake of better ally AI.

wait a minute, I will give you MGS, but come on. you can't knock Gears compared to Killzone! resistence is going to be nice, no doubt about it, but to just dismiss gears, which had more critical acclaim then both Killzone1 and Resistence1 is just being fanboyish. :P
