Gears of War 2 = OWNED

I LOVE Gears, and I'm pretty sure I'm the biggest Gear Head on these forums. There were things wrong with the first one that bothered alot of us though (and still bothers me today since I play all the time).

Gears 2 Improvements that will own cheap players:

- No More Sniper insta-down
- Roady Run is slowed by gun fire
- No more Host Advantage

Phew! I'm so glad these changes are coming. I really don't care about sniper active releoad since I've learned to play around it. But these changes are great. :lol: No more average player hosts who think they are God.

Now fanboys think every game has host advantage just because Epic rush the multiplayer.

Host advantage was pretty bad, but what really pissed me off about the first one were the insane amount of glitches in the game, anyone remember people rody running and shotgunning at the same time? yeah... Let's not forget the chainsaw glitch.. :(

It was still an awesome experience, though. I hope they don't screw up the online this time. The game is looking great!

I never cared much for roady run, but host advantage and sniper insta-downs seriously annoy me to no end (instant-kill snipers are the bane of any multiplayer shooting game). Thank you Epic for getitng rid of those cheap sniper insta-downs :)

I hate the Boomshot. I'm like the only person in the world who can't use it. I don't know why, I just never seem to do anything with it. I used to love playing Gridlock, picking up Boomshot for the first few rounds and hearing everyone say I suck, then I would use the pistol and get to the top of the leaderboard.

If you have great aim, the pistol is probably the best weapon in the game. It's great at medium range and is decent at long range (just incase you need to give a teammate some support fire) and for close range, just melee and two shots. IMO it's the most effective weapon, only drawback is that it comes with only 48 shots.

I don't know if they changed it again, but boomshot became a nub cannon last time I played. I miss the boomshot when it took skills and good precise aiming when the game first came out.

I think if you get hit in the chest with an active reload sniper you should be instantly downed. The game is about using cover it; keeps people in check. white_sox

It's kind of annoying when you have a guy or two shooting at you and then someone across the map active downs you, mainly because the first thing he did when he picked up snipe was shoot to get the active reload.

I have no problem if you shoot at me, miss and then get the active. But so many people just waste the first bullet to get the active.

i know i love all those adds to, but why couldn't they just do all that in an update? Oh well. BTW HORRRIBLE PHOTSHOP JOB! lol

I think they made it so it's not a nub cannon again. I know what you are talking about, and i'm constantly saying "did they make the boomshot harder to use" because I was used to being able to shoot nowhere near the guy, yet still blow him up. Now it seems like you need direct contact to do something.

Then again, like I said I just suck with Boom, so it's probably just me.

I don't understand what you mean. I played tons of Gears online but I don't understand this insta-down phrase. You mean getting shot by the sniper instantly downs you?because that isn't true.

Also why shouldn't a sniper kill you instantly with a headshot. That's perfectly realistic.

Also why shouldn't a sniper kill you instantly with a headshot. That's perfectly realistic.

It only works with an active reload. It's happened to me before; if the shooter has an active reload and hits you in the neck or around that area then it'll down you in one shot.
