Gears Of War 2 will flop.

Let me have the honor to justify my prediction with some logical reasons.

Let us compare the first game to the second.

Graphically it doesn't look much better, in a matter of fact it looks worse because it will be more open than the first which is good but bad for graphics.

Gameplay it is almost the same, taking hostage in shooter game is pointless there is no need for this feature at all, it will be useless so they are adding some useless gimmicks to make people believe that is better than the first game.

Something reviewers made no comment about is the environment, it looks the same in the first gears and it looks the same in the second game, going from location to another doesn't change much, they should make some variety in locations.

Adding only one more player for the online is not an achievement unlocked.

They are adding a story and this is the only thing that will be new to the game.

in terms of graphics and visuals i see a nice improvement and the same thing goes for it's gameplay and muiplayer. i would make a more serious attempt at this poor excuse of a flamebait,but in the end it never really gets anywhere.

almost all the game playing modes (it was just deathmatch in the first one to be blunt) , the tweaks in gameplay, the matchmaking vs. lobby, etc.

party system+ matchmaking and the 5 online co-op mode(horde mode)

It depends on how much better it looks really. Or else it will go unnoticeable. It's cool if it will be much crisper than the original since the original was kinda blurry, but if not much is improved then what's there to brag about? Nothing.

wow not at all adding more people helps in some cases, but for the most part just ruins the experience, example tf2-having 16 people is way too many, but 12 or 10 is the right amount, on the other hand new modes create even more replay......id rather be able to play ctf, king of the hill, etc then have to play deathmatch every time although gears 1 did that very nicely

I see where you're coming from TC, but many other games have used the same formula for follow up titles and received good reviews.

But I can see it as a possibility. Also, maybe the games these days are truly sucking, or maybe Gamespot is starting to lay down some law with their reviews and not pull any punches. If the latter is true then the odds of it flopping increase.

I've seen several Gears of War 2 videos, both show off impressive effects, a smoother framerate and a much more active war zone with far more enemies on screen at any given time than in Gears 1. The environments are even more detailed and show off much better draw distances than the first.

All of that adds up to a much better looking game overall. Feel free to post any screenshots you want, just don't go cherry-picking the worst possible screenshot to prove your point, I've grown tired of that.
