Gears of war 3 acquired 1 billion dollars in revenue, sequel time?

Gear of war is going to turn to be the next Halo.:o

I am sure Gears 1-2 have sold more than 12 million by now, so it is probably a billion indeed

Now which one is milking again?

All those Halo titles, except ODST, have been critically acclaimed, sold millions, and are AAA. I wouldn't exactly call that "milking." However, it gets ragged on and critiqued for being milked, when franchises like Ratchet and Clank/Final Fantasy/God of War/Uncharted/Resistance/Killzone etc have either:

*As many releases in recent years

*Have dropped in quality

*Are constantly re-released

***I include quality titles as core titles as well. Uncharted: Golden Abyss for instance looks like a quality title, I would consider it a "core" title. As long as the franchise keeps fans happy and is AAA, is it bad to have many releases?

You have no idea how much MS would gloat if Gears 3 by itself topped $1 billion...

For a game to top 1 billion, it needs to sell 15 - 20 million in max a month (like COD), to ensure maximum profit before the game has been reduced in price in retail stores.

you forget that Cod is a multiplat over at least 4 or 5 platforms per release so theres a massive userbase in compparison to 1 console exclusive, its so hillarious your playing the numbers game without using any logic whatsoever.

Yeah, of course... But still, I think COD's dominance is clear when it outsells Gears by far on the 360 alone.

Had Gears of War 3 had more sales on the 360, but less in overall due to being exclusive, then this would have been an entirely different story.

So that's why we must not fail to accept... CoD is not only a juggernaut overall, it sells immensely on the 360, too.

Heck, Gears of War 3 in its first week was unable to beat Black Ops for the XBL activity, not even in the first week, when everything is new and everybody is playing it... Tells us something about the popularity of CoD, not only overall, but on 360 too.

A lot of fans. The Gears universe has a lot of history before E-Day, all of which would make a great setting for Gears 4.
