Gears of War 3 Not Nominated for VGA's "Game of the Year"

Odd. Definatly a contender, great SP. Beast, horde, campaign/arcade provide a great co-op experiance. And then the MP its miles beyond what was accomplished in the first two, its just an amazing game all around.

True but being that it comes out like a week before xmas, it wont really move sales. Maybe a bit.

Maybe this is their attempt at appearing less mainstream. I don't buy it. I'm sure there will still be plenty of rappers running around and some unfunny comedian making fun of gamers.

The game sold 3 million copies in one week.....why do they need a "Game of the Year" nomination to justify its existence?

That just has me thinking "Skyward Sword" must be really THAT good....

I agree, but have the VGA's ever even ended up picking a CoD game for goty?

2007 - Bioshock

2008 - GTA IV

2009 - Uncharted 2

2010 - Red Dead Redemption

They've nominated CoD, but never actually picked it.

Gears 3 definitely should be a contender though.

I hear nothing but great things about Gears 3 from my friend though. (and he has every system and is a Ninty fanboy for reference)

I would expect Gears to be nominated at the VGS's, but I'm more surprised that Modern Warfare 3 wasn't nominated either.

I watched them last year, I think it was because of an Uncharted 3 trailer or something.

Anyways, it might have been the worst thing i've ever seen on TV in my life.
