Gears of War 3 Not Nominated for VGA's "Game of the Year"

I don't consider the VGA's to be very credible, so I'm okay with that.

VGA's is a Joke and should not be aired. It's a disgrace to the gaming industry as a whole. Why the hell have crappy music artists and advertisements?? It's a video game show right?? Where are the developers!?? Like Naughty Dog, Bethesda, From Software, and among others?? Instead it's a turd infested marketing sham.

As i will say the only ones with any weight imo are the BAFTA's these weathers last years was pretty funny with Dara O'Brien presenting whom i am sure is a pretty avid gamer aswell.

How can you complain about these picks? I think they are reasonable nominations, if you HAVE to choose 5. This list shows that shooters don't run the industry in the eyes of critics.

Batman: Arkham City, Uncharted 3, Portal 2, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

It doesn't deserve GOTY. While Gears 3 is spearheading the LGBT acceptance movement, overall as a game it fails to surpass being average. Though it's not surprising that GS gave it a 9.5, they are based in San Francisco after all.Rockman999

Instead, they focus on tools and shallow idiots who don't care about their profession or the current whereabouts of the actual profession. They just go for the show and the money.

Makes sense since very little that goes on at that freak show has very much to do with actual core Video Games. :o :P

I enjoyed gears and it probably should be at least short listed, there is a lot of content there and for some people almost endless replayability. I cannot believe i am saying this, but so far, i think Forza 4 is my GOTY. I normally get bored of racing games super quick, but forza is just so well done, i cannot put it down. I am also enjoying batman, its my second fave of the year, i do know that Skyrim will be my number one though, i am ready for that game big time.sts106mat

I managed to put down FM4 surely you can :D but its defo my GOTY aswell to be honest its driving heaven and the fact it has Jezza is what makes it better.

Eh Smg2 and Dckr weren't nominated by them last year for goty, and those were 2 of the best last year imo. It's not as if the spike vga's are the definitive Goty awards just the most advertised. Seems like it would be a bigger deal if it didn't get nominated at alot of other places then just spike.

Im surprised, Gears 3 is great. Guess pure shooters have hard time earning GOTY awards...

haaha ive not really been playing all that much Forza i've gotten a slight addiction to Black ops wager matches :P

I would say "there is indeed truth and honor in the world" but it's probably just a case of CliffB not paying off the right people to make it happen.

DX:HR is worlds better and still not a shoe-in for GOTY.

Possibly Dark Souls or Batman AC.

Probably Skyrim.

Other than its rabid following Gears should not win anything, the series just isn't very good, it doesn't deserve all the hype it gets and I'm guessing has something to do with Microsoft marketing and payoffs under the table. 9.5? You must be joking.

I tend to agree. PC games are less impressive than console games. The only thing they really have over console games is sharper screenshots. The Witcher 2's gamplay is pretty weak.

There are far better games that have came out this year than Gears 3 I think that much is obvious to everyone.

Humm...i agree that Uncharted 2 is better than Gears 2 but it ends there. Other than those, Gears have been a better series.
