Gears Of War Collection Set For PS5 This Year, E-Day Releasing In 2026 - Report

A reveal is reportedly going to happen this summer.

A Gears of War collection is reportedly going to be announced this summer with a PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S release. Gears of War: E-Day also reportedly is targeting a 2026 release window.

According to leaker ExTas1s, Microsoft is reportedly going to reveal a Gears of War collection during the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase in June. While the exact games in the rumored collection are unknown, it's likely going to at least include the first three, although the spin-off Gears of War: Judgment could be part of the package too. The leaker doesn't have any information about a Nintendo Switch 2 port.

Gears of War: E-Day was reportedly aiming for a 2025 release, but it's now apparently slipped into next year. Microsoft is reportedly having the Gears of War collection fill in the release calendar this year as E-Day isn't ready for launch yet. However, the leaker said that there's a slim chance that it could still make it out the door in 2025.

This leaker correctly reported that Forza Horizon 5 was being ported to PS5. However, the leaker also reported that Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3 + 4 would be announced at the Xbox Games Showcase and shadow-dropped in June, although Activision is apparently fully revealing it today.

A Gears of War collection has been rumored for a several years now, but nothing concrete came about these rumors.

@SecretPolice: MS wants to put players first, no matter where or how they play, and is committed to meeting players where they are. Sounds like they would make a physical version to me.

Perhaps but I think remakes/remasters are almost sure to be digital only in this day and age but eh, who knows, since it's first time on The Jive they may give you a box and a disk, but I'd guess the disk would just be used to DL the full game but hey, you'll have a box and disk tho. lol :P

@SecretPolice: Dunno supposedly they aren't doing one for FH5. Even with what they say about meeting players where they are no matter how they play, sometimes they say one thing and then do something else.

Great to see more people will get the chance to play these great games. I’m definitely down for this collection.

Xbox zealots and fanboys are gonna squirm, cry, and clench their fists, but it is what it is—Xbox flopped worldwide. Last holiday season made it painfully obvious that the global market has rejected Xbox hardware.

Microsoft knows it too. That’s why they’re putting their exclusives on PlayStation and even eyeing Nintendo. The whole “Xbox as a major console” era is basically over. Now they’re banking on Game Pass, cloud gaming, and going multiplatform to stay relevant. Maybe that works out for them in the long run as third party publisher selling games on Playstation, PC and Nintendo Platforms. I'll give Gears of War a try when it's cheap on Playstation, i wont pay full price for old games.

@SecretPolice: Also Microsoft wants to help with game preservation. This would be a way to help and win win for MS because they would give the most people able to play their games. It seems like logic and common sense say they should do it, so they probably will right?

I mean big news if true MS will be putting its signature multiplatform games on other consoles. MS shouldn't have any problem getting a sizable acquisition past regulators after that.

Anyhoo, if true, I hope these re-releases have a little something more to them, like it'd be awesome if they were remade in UE5.

When leakers said Xbox may have new consoles in 2025 no one knew it would be the ps5/pro.

This whole Gears of War Collection has been talk and nothing happened. Since E-Day isn't coming out till next year, I really hope MS comes through with this Gears Collection that includes Gears of War through Judgment and I happened to like Judgment when it came out back on Xbox 360. I really want to replay that game. Oh and how about throwing in Gears Tactic while we're at it.

I did however replayed Gears 5 on PC and still an awesome game to this day mainly on the campaign side. (Might have to go back to MP at some point but for now, Halo: Infinite is still taking my time)

The first 3 Gears games were my favorite games on Xbox and actually the reason I bought a 360. I’ll likely buy it just to have access to it on my PS5, I’m hoping the multiplayer Hordes mode is back and popular, I loved grinding away on that. Way better than CoD Zombies!

Well seeing what has happened to the Xbox in the hardware space I wouldn’t say that in a business mind that Sony would greatly succeed. See MS is a software 1st company while Sony is a hardware 1st company. Sony need their hardware to sell to succeed while MS really doesn’t because Windows is raking in revenue by the boat loads.
