Gears of War franchise coming to PS3?

According to the official TGS 09 site, on september 25 there will be a special sessions going on entitled "Adapting the 'Gears of War' Franchise for Global Consumption" by Michael Capps, President, Epic Games, Inc.

You completely missed the point of the title, putting it on the PS3 doesn't mean it is "adapting for Global Consumption" They are talking about taking a very western type game and trying to market it globally.

Its possible, seeing as MS exclusivity deal is up. Im expecting a multiplatgears spin-off/prequal next year and then gears 3 on the 360 or the 720 (MS forking out for it of course). Similar to the situation with MGS rising.

No, Halo and GoW are both first party franchises.

The GeoW franchise is thrid party built on a multiple platform engine with one of the games already released on another platform. It is entirely possible, however unlikely, that GeoW could be released on the PS3.

actually with the release of UT3 they said they were thinking of bringing the franchise over. except it wouldnt be the same games as on the 360 just in the same universe.

If gears comes to PS3 lemmings will officially be pwned so badly they wont be able to show their faces here, that's the second top game and top grossing game below halo all the xbox will have left as a serious franchise will be halo.

The exclusive publishing rights ended with Gears2, unless I missed the renewal announcement. But, MS doesn't have the hubris of Sony to think they can survive without exclusivity of the key titles that define their system. Look to MS to shell out new cash to Epic, but Epic is definately free agent.

Epic is now in Konami's situation. How to procede without pissing off your base of support knowing that exclusivity can'texpand your market? I bet PS3 will get Gears of War: Dom stories (no Marcus Pheonix) or something like that.
