People who call GOW a trash and/or mediocre game are probably the ones who got raped by gnasher enthusiasts, recalling the game as such because of their skill or lack of. If you actually took the time to learn the game, it'd always be in your disc tray without a mere visual of loading screens for other games. I dare say, GOW has the deepest multiplayer ever.

And rightfully so, the series still has gas left in the tank. Over 17 years of war to cover, plenty for a couple more great games.

So the Xbone basically has... one exclusive.

Gears of War is hardly a game to get excited about. It's just a third person shooter with a lot of gore, nothing special at all. It lacks the scope, heart, narrative, and vision of many other franchises that have much higher potential (such as Uncharted or The Witcher). I know the article didn't necessarily state that Gears is coming to PS4, but to be honest I hope we have more fulfilling experiences this gen because call of duty and gears are extremely dull games that lack creativity.

Gears was fun up to 3, then i lost interest. I'm sure the next one will come out multiplatform BUT if its of teh same calibre as the latest one, it really doesn't matter then does it.

That's actually one series I could care less having on the PS4. Gears of War was incredible for it's time. One of my favorite games on the 360. The series after the first took a sharp downturn into generic garbage.

Weren't Dom and his wife's death some of the saddest in gaming history. The game improved cover system to a level, no game has been able to reach. It's also the only TPS with fun (extremely) CQC, exclusion to those who don't know how to use the gnasher.

Dom and his wife's death was hardly a sad moment, Gears of War isn't really well known for its story telling. It's a shame that video game writing standards are so poor, I can only hope that one day we can have stories as deep and compelling as those seen in movies. Gears of War made some nice advancements in terms of third person shooting (and cover system) gameplay, but it's not nothing we've already seen before in games like metal gear solid. I'm just saying that I hope next gen we get more colourful and creative games like Journey that are fun to play but are also more interesting than "BIG GUY BIG MUSCLES SHOOT BIG GUN".

The thousands of youtube comments longing for Dom on the video of his death clearly shows Epic's ability to emotionally connect you to a character and that all, refutes your statement of it beng "hardly a sad moment". Metal Gear Solid and GOW can't be compared as they excel in different aspects of the TPS genre, one is stealthy and narrative driven while the other is a guns blazing war shooter and multiplayer/gameplay centered. Given Epic's dominant stance on gameplay development, I was surprised on how good the story was in all three gears games, excluding the failure that GOWJ was.

So MS says Gears was never their IP in the first place (which of course anyone with half a brain already knew) and PS fanboys somehow believe that this confirms that Gears is coming to the PS4?...lol

So by that "logic" I guess Jack Tretton saying he can't confirm that The Last Guardian is still a PS exclusive somehow means that TLG is confirmed as coming to the XBone? Fanboy logic....an oxymoron if there ever was one...lol.

the game is good but very overrated I cant stand the characters just some huge muscles guys that grunts for everything I did'nt play gears 3 or judgement though

Gears is alright. Played the first one and never felt the desire to play the others.

This is good news. Gears of War was the pinnacle of the franchise. Reason why is because it was multiplat. Going back to that will definitely bring the franchise back to its former glory. Specially now that they're working with Sony.

How is it overrated when it isn't even praised to a high extent? Of this thread, some say its good, some say its average and rest of the sayings are that its bad. Overrated among the casual gamers? Maybe, but they are known to overrate everything.

Never played a gear game yet. I am waiting for them to release gears 2+3 on PC before I bother buying the first gears. Can't see wasting my money on the first if I can't finish the story.

This is only the start. Once Epic realizes that they would save money and make more in profit by deving for the PS4 exclusively, Gears of War will be associated with the PlayStation brand.
