Gears of War is the best console renders [56K alert]

Yes, in my opinion as a gamer. not talking about the console. I think all next gen console can produce this visuals...

but until now, this is the best console rendering i've ever seen. I think it's the matter of the developers.

too bad I haven't playing Mass Effect though.

But I have dissapointed by other game using Unreal Engine recently. For example Blacksite, i've been playing the demo, it's looks great. But when renting the full game, seems the graphics had been down graded, proven by the no flowing watter effects applied at the building's wall when raining. The shadow is pretty bad too... well once again it's depends on developers. And I trust Epic to do all the magic.

Uncharted is very colourful, but the textures aren't up to scratch with Gears, and many aspects are very undetailed up-close.

Mass Effect looks a lot better IMOsaolin323

hellll no. uncharted looks a little better imo. Mass effect is FAR to inconsistent in its graphics. some characters are beautifull, some are downrighht ugle. same with environments.

unreal tourney has better graphics than gears

uncharted is also very good

plus..i hated gears' gameplay..i dont like the weapons either

Sorry, I didn't realize playing a game on my PS3, hooked up to my 42" 1080p plasmavia a $130 monster hdmi cable = watching gametrailer vids. Your setup must be amazing.

And for the record, Uncharted is a fantastic looking game. I just think people have fallen in love with its graphics due to the fact that it's extremely bright and colorful throughout the game. Assassin's Creed is actually graphically more impressive in a lot of ways (character models are more detailed, character animations are better, draw distance is fantastic, etc.), but Assassin's Creed has a more washed out color palette, which I think hurts it in the eyes of some people.

I think your comparing the art more than the graphics power. I highly doubt halo 3 is more graphics intensive as Gears ...

Frankly, I thought the water effects looked prety bad on that level. Granted, I was playing it directly after a healthy dosage of Crysis, so that might have schewed my opinion a little.

I didn't care about it first...but EVERYONE is using it and it produces the same style no matter what, so no your not alone.

Mass Effect looks like utter crap to me.

It has horrible texture loading problems (sometimes textures are constantly streaming throughout a entire conversation as the viewpoint changes.). It has pathetic framerate problems, and i really hate how they dim the outside edges of the screen.

IMO, Mass Effect is in NO state to have been released, and for the life of me i cant figure out how Bioware is getting away with it.

All my Opinion of course, but ill damn sure defend it.

The thing about gears is that it was arguably the best looking game at the time. The same can't be said about uncharted. I personally prefer Mass effect and some parts of halo 3. The first planet in Mass effect Edan Prime blew me away graphically.

You know, I've never experienced any of these framerate problems that everybody complains about with the game. I've had minor framerate drops, but never anything major. I guess I'm lucky.
