Gears of War just needs to stop getting called the best.

Referring to Graphics!

Stop being fanboys. Gears of War doesn't look the best. If it is the best, I find that quite sad, a year later. I played it online today- first time in a few months. It looks decent, but not amazing or anything. Textures are pretty good, but the Locust character models aren't that great anymore, smoke particles look like crap, distant objects look like crap and the levels are pretty tight packed.

Uncharted is better visually by quite a bit. Gears of War lasts longer though due to multiplayer and Coop play. Gears of War is a great game and if any game deserved a 9.5+ between that and Halo 3 it was definitely Gears of War.

Yeah. It was a good game. But it's old news and still terribly overrated. I played through it on my brother's 360 last Christmas... it was a fun game, but there was absolutely no story and the gameplay became a bit repetitive toward the end. A good game to be sure, but definitely not a 9.6, in my opinion. I'm one of those that feel Uncharted has surpassed it in both visuals and story. I just find Uncharted more fun.Jared2720

Gears has the best graphics for consoles, though the PC has of course surpassed it multiple times in the past year.

Uncharted is the game that is constantly compared to Gears; cows apparently think that having attractive blues and greens makes their game technically superior to Gears of War. It's not. Comparatively speaking, the textures are low detail, the effects are worse, and the character models are terrible.

Art direction is a matter of preference, but Gears still has the best console graphics technically.

Animations and art direction are not technical issues, they're artistic ones, and are completely subjective. And you're very wrong about the textures and character models.
