Gears of War isnt possible on PS3 not because of the graphics.....but because MS wont let Epic make a PS3 version.

Just trying to prove a point....since certain PS3 games arent possible on 360 due to graphics. Well 360 games, while certainly possible on PS3 graphically, are impossibly gonna show up due to business agreements.

That point is illogical. The PS3 at best is only 5-10% more powerful than the 360. So far it has been equal.

most 05-06 360 games b4 PS3s launch are impossible on PS3.

Again....due to devs not bothering to make a port. Either way, impossible is impossible, the reason is IRRELEVANT.

"Meet the Robinsons", a casual multiplat, is impossible on PS3. The graphics werent cutting edge, but there wasnt a PS3 version made for some reason.

Good point. UT3 which looks just as good and plenty of other games that use the Unreal Engine run just fine on PS3. There is no reason Gears wouldn't as well.

I'd have to disagree with you. Those games aren't impossible on other systems. Are you purporting that Infinity Ward couldn't put COD2 on the PS3 if they wanted to. Of course they could, so you're wrong the it's "impossible". It's not probable, but certainly not impossible.

I'm not going to say it's 100% correct but didn't Epic say last year that putting Gears on the PS3 would be at the very least problematic and maybe not possible at all because of the way the PS3's Ram is structured ?

So your sorta joke thread just may have a nugget of truth though I do feel they could find a way around that issue - maybe. ;)

There was an console exclusivity deal between Infinity Ward and Microsoft over Call of Duty 2, that's why it never appeared on the Playstation 3.

are you on crack? lol you do know that blu ray is better than hd dvd and dvd right. gears of war would be alot better if it was a ps3 exclusive. it would be longer and the graphics would be nicer. microsoft doesn't own anybody. Epic can do what they want.

have you heard of a legally binding contract, they could sue them for all the profits they'ld make off the PS3 version and more if they released it

I'm not going to say it's 100% correct but didn't Epic say last year that putting Gears on the PS3 would be at the very least problematic and maybe not possible at all because of the way the PS3's Ram is structured ?

i think both the 360 and ps3 have the same amount of RAM though as all ps3s have hard drives it could use a page file too so if anything the ps3 has more

The only thing stopping any 360 game being on the ps3 is a piece of paper saying exclusive rights. Exclusives are what give a console power in the market. The gpu difference is not a problem, the cell processor can piggyback other properties of the system.

that comment is really not backed by any sort of factual evidence. if that was the case, there would be gaping disparities between PS3 and 360 multiplats, which isn't the case. Gears is possible on PS3, just like MGS4 is possible on 360.

Epic says UT3 is graphically better than Gears. So yes Gears can be done on PS3 from a technology standpoint.

You do realize that Microsoft owns the IP for Gears of War, right. That means it is never going to be on a Playstation platform, ever. That would be like Rare trying to take the Donkey Kong IP with them to Microsoft when they left Nintendo, it just isn't possible.

What's funny is I thought I read MS secured only Gears-Gears 2.......Gears 3, there is still a question whether or not it will come to PS3. MS does not own the IP.
