Gears of War series

Gameplay is fun, but man the dialogue and story are just cringe-inducing all the way through.

It tries so hard to be cool it just isn't. It seems like a total nerds fantasy view of what being a tough, "badass" kind of guy is. The protagonists are very one-dimensional.

I still quite like Gears 2's gameplay, but that's about it.

How does having a wall to hide behind make it bland? I actually quite like the enviornments in Gears, especially the second one.

The characters are cheesy but who cares, most every game has cheesy characters

I don't see how you think the controls are spotty, never had trouble with them.

And wtf graphics in B&W? what game have you been playing.

Gears is also my favorite new series this gen.

As far as TPS are concerned, the first PS Syphon Filter game was more groundbreaking than Gears of War.

I've had this avatar since well before RE5 was even released & could care less about changing it. I didn't like RE5 either if that helps you sleep

The first was very dull and repetative, i got to the extra chapter on the PC version(chapter before the last) and stopped playing, i just couldnt pull myself to finishing it. The sad part was i bought Gears of War over mass effect, what a mistake that was. I got Mass effect about a month later and loved it, wanted to punch myself for picking gears of war over it.

Gears 1 was awesome. Gears 2's two was worse in about every way possible.

It's the most important aspect, but it's certainly not all that matters.

I prefer Mass Effect 1 > Gears 2, even though Mass's combat and movement is not exactly much fun.

I wanted to play both Gears for so long and still do. They look really badass. The thing is, they're both on the Unreal engine so their wow-factor is now dead to me. It's too late in the gen to be wowed by the omnipresent Unreal engine. GeOW2 is still heralded as one of the showpieces of the 360 though... is it really that goodlooking even now?

Would still love to play those games.

Gears 1 was awesome. Gears 2's two was worse in about every way possible.

I really liked the first Gears. Funny thing about the second though, I've owned it for 3 months now and I still haven't touched the single player campaign yet lol. I love me some Horde mode.

first game was pretty awesome when it first came out, i still have it because it's still fun with friends

second game was just too generic and the story was really bad, tho horde mode was still fun until my friends and I got into left 4 dead

but....I loves teh Gears of Warz.

It is a bit of meh but I enjoy playing it even though I only played it once.

I love the series personally. I still have fond memories of Gears of War 1 online on the 360. Great game.

I love the series and can't wait for number 3 and I dont care what anyone else says. You are entitled to your own wrong opinion though:P
