Resistance has very good graphics but it doesnt look near as good as gears.There both very good games though.U cant run and gun in gears,its more of a stop and pop game,u have to take a lot of cover.
Not to say anything about the TC, he came in here with good intentions. But a thread title like that will only start a flame wars between the cow and lemmings...
Both are good,gears has way better graphics,rfom run and gun just like any other fps and gears you have to take cover.Rfom when you shoot someone they just fall down,gears when you shoot someone they blow to bits,you can blow of legs,arms,heads,top half of the body or lower half.Gears is the better game so please dont compare rfom to it,rfom is just another fps,gears is the first of its kind.
It depends on you really, i mean, online, it seems RFOM has more longetivity but overall they are COMPLETELY different games that cant be compared in any way whatsoever
Gears has the best graphics, its the goriest, the chainsaw, and possibly the best co-op ever.
Resistance has good graphics, and has the better weapons, vehicles, and bigger multiplayer. In terms of music, story and dialouge Resistance also wins.
I really enjoyed both, but being able to play GeOW online with a friend to complete the story really made a difference for me. I actually prefer RFOM visuals, online multiplayer and the story, so it's quite hard for me to choose.
Gears has grade level higher graphics. But both look great. Resistance beats it in all other areas. And Gears isn't original, it copies pieces from other games just like Resistance does. Gears copies Resident Evil camera angles and Quake gore.

My personal favorite is RFoM because it lasts longer and it's more action-packed and if you like to blow up 6 aliens at the same time with a grenade launcher attached to your rifle and send them all flying across the screen, then RFOM is for you. GeoW is good also but for me, it's the kind of game that's only good to rent.
You got to remember Gears has way less action going on on screen and that's why it has a better presentation. It looks stunning but no way it could handle some of the resistance levels which get pretty big and hectic.
Resistance is a very solid fps with cool weapons but does little unique things besides the weapons. Gears was very new to most people cause not many played games with its cover system which was done before, just neer so good. Too bad it was too short and couldn't handle huge maps.
Multiplayer was one of the best I played in gears in its first few weeks when everyone played very carefull. Now its more a run&gun shotgun fest which spoiled it for me. It also has too few gamemodes and maps. I'd like tome ctf in gears with 16 people.
Resistance multiplayer kept me busy for much longer. Its highly underrated and for me the best fps multiplayer on consoles (I don't like halo2 at all).
Gears is GOTY from multiple sources, RFOM was not even in the running.
RFOM is a good game, but it pales in comparison. Honestly, i think rumble would do alot for the game. But Gears is a game that will be talked about for years to come. RFOM will be forgotten.
resistance is a standard FPS w/ good graphics. Gears is more next gen seeing as how they actually did new and innovative things and still had amazing graphics.
Never played gears, but I own resistance and it´s a really kewl fps, the first fps I ever got for a console lol(except Goldeneye), us cows don´t play to many fps´s =P.
For a 3rd person shooter its damn good - up their with Resi 4.
Resistance is fairly good for a console FPS - MUCH better than PDZ, but compared to Half Life 2, BF2, let alone Halo it kinda pales in comparison. Never the less its a must own for any PS3 owner.
Gears of war is a unique 3rd person shooter that has an asome single player and blah multiplayer while resistance is a generic flop shooter on the ps3 with less then stellar graphics and no rumble. But it does have 40 player multiplayer so people can share there generic experiences together.
it all depends on you me PERSONALLY i like rfom just alittle bit more than gears. if you have the chance to own both do so becuase they are great games. for i never really liked stop and pop games but again that just me. the one thing i really love about resistance is intensity. there can be so much going on at one time that you may just wanna stop and pause to think "what the hell should i do". there can be an insane number of enemies on screen and one time and is just pure fun but if you have PS3 and 360 by each respective title because you won't find any better games on those consoles, yet
