In CS people actually have strategy and use teamwork
Just thought I should point this out, the guy in the first picture, he used to be a hardcore consolite and was one of the first persons in line for the PS3 when it was launched but he gave up his spot for a contest where he could win a PC(PC shown in the picture).

Developers certainly seem to think so, what with the amount of PC games they've dumbed down for consoles. I think it's pretty foolish to think that console gamers couldn't handle a deep and complex game, but hey, the developer knows best.
Generally speaking, you have intelligent people and complete tools on both sides, so it's pretty tough to tell.

Hewkii
not if you play zombie mod.
In a few servers i played team work was used all the time. As well as the tacticle gamer servers for other games. Im playing a lot of DOD:S lately and you have to you TW or you lose.

i've played both games for years and players on cs are every bit as dumb as those in halo.

They are multiplayer games... it all depends on what server or who your grouped with really, just in CSS you can choose.

if you think that's ONLY limited to CS or any other PC FPS then think again. I've played numerous games against EXTREMELY organized teams in games such as Halo2, 3 and CoD4. Don't be so ignorant as to think that PC gamers are the only one smart enough to work as teams.

where is the console typing?
Bazfrag
Here it is! but wtf is a gizzard shad???
Damn you got me... Typing of the dead!
There is no difference. You have to learn on either format.

Aren't they? I could swear I've never seen a self proclaimed Hermit who isn't fat.
I'm proud to say that I just reached the 350 mark. :)

you got that all wrong there either a stick or they are fat not just one.
I'd say that PC gamer's tend to be smarter because there's a lot more knowledge required in order to build your PC, make it work and install a game as opposed to plug in a console, pop in the disc, and shut teh kiddiez up for an hour.
BTW, I am not saying conosles are bad, I'm just saying PC gamer's tend to be smarter in general.
I wouldn't say smarter. I think the average PC gamer would generally know more about PCs and they way those types of games work, which in comparison to a simple console, seems like it would require a higher intellectual commitment.
Society pins a nerdy, smart image on computer elites, imo someone proficient with a computer is due to experience and knowledge, no different than someone who knows about a car, or some other area. It doesn't mean that they are generally smart. It depends on the subject.
Age also comes into question as well. I believe that the hardcore console community is younger than a gaming PC elitist. Like SW for example, is crawling with kids.
I think the youngest PC gamer on here(from what I can tell) is about 14 years old. The average PC gamer on here ranges from 16-and older.
Console gamers on here are about 10 and up.
Being "smart" can mean a lot of things so this discussion will go nowhere. Are PC gamers more knowledgable about computers? Probably.
Are console gamers better at....
Well iono
On consoles I'm usually on top of the leader boards/ladders, on PC I get pwned all the time. I think it's more about dedication. Maybe PC gamers stick with one or two games while consolites play many, I mean these people on PC have to invest a lot of time to be that good.

I don't think it's is that they are smarter, i just think it is more along the lines of them needing to be smarter.
In general, PC gamers are much more knowledgeable about technology and gaming. They have to be, their platform rewards said knowledge. That's not a general rule of course.
Intelligence is a little more difficult; the platform we pick usually has little to do with how smart we are.

Agree with this as well.
PC gamers older? Perhaps. More technologically inclined/knowledgeable? Perhaps. Greater motivation, willingness, and propensity to learn and become hands-on with tech? Perhaps.
Wiser/smarter? No.
