Gen's winding down - let's crown the best shooter!

Yes sir, lets crown the best shooter of this console generation...

Vanquish - epic masterpiece of epic proportions. The gameplay is some of the absolute best ever concieved, and when you combine that with Shinji Mikami's *always* brilliant usage of epic set pieces and pacing, you have a shooter that few can even begin to touch in terms of excellence!

Crysis 2 - Blending the adrenaline fueled set pieces that console fps are known for with the wide open gameplay offered in some of the best PC fps available, Crytek has crafted a real monster here. Crysis 2 is a shooter that blends the best of both worlds, and in doing so has become a real force to be reckoned with. Forget COD and Halo!

So SW, which is the absolute best and legendary shooter of this gen?

Though I wouldn't call it the best shooter. Just a really good game.

Vanquish isn't on PC, so I choose that one.

It would go to Vanquish as Vanquish tried to be...well Vanquish, it didn't try to be something else llike Crysis 2. Crysis 2 attempted to be CoD in the future.

yeah, that really isn't anything compared to other stuff in the game. but it was the best one I could find :x

I knew this was going to be related to vanquish. I vote crysis 2 by default, it's a decent game while vanquish was a borefest to me. but uncharted 2 is my favourite shooter this gen

I'm glad master shake is back. without him vanquish is just completely ignored on this forums. it's thanks to epic topics such as this that awareness is raised.

okay, after pondering it a bit, I will say that out of all the fps's I've played this gen, bioshock is the best.

out of all tps's this gen, uncharted 2. (didn't have to think hard for that one :P )

I think either RAGE or bioshock infinite will take the best fps spot though. not sure about tps.

But seriously, this thread has a shocking lack of the correct answer(NINJAS):

It has the best gameplay(Cl@ss-Based with no regenerating health, autoaim or ironsights), the best maps (Almost Fifty and balanced to a fault in most cases), The best weapons (Sticky Launcher, Dead Ringer, Sandvich, etc), and the best community (About half the content is now community-made and mods like VSH are as fun as the real game).

Prove me wrong.

psp -the only fps i played on it so far are 2 socom games and syphon filters-so im going with syphon filter dark mirror
