How can Sony show this video as Evidence? Evidence of what exactly? This case is going to go exactly like the iphone jail break but I suppose none of the blind followers have jailbroke iphones or unlocked a mobile phone while still under contract? I dont agree with the Piracy aspect of this and have sympathy for the online Community that is suffering because of the cheats but this is nothing more than Sony attempting toclose the stable door after the horse has bolted.

See thats the funny thing.. From what I gather, sony is stating, he has aggreed tot he TOU by having a manual with it written on it in the box. TOU have been stricken down in court many times now especially in the manner like this. If sony's only argument is the TOU... sony is in for a epic fail battle. Now if they find he has software or hardware proprietary to sony and used it to break to the code, then Geo is i trouble.. Thats looking so lacking though... We may all hate what this security breach ahs caused but in the end, the lawsuit just looking so lacking. We will see. I think sony is just gonna hark on the hacker for a couple of years and keep scare tactics then once ps4 is out, go ahead and drop everything.

Because putting up data of reverse engineering has alot of legality to it. If he was charging for something then we would have a issue.. Thats why sony is not even sueing that argument as Geo (and reverse engineering group) is lega in the general aspect of that side.. That are trying to dismiss his actions as against the ToU that apparently you authorize by just buying the product because the statement is int he box and if you go online on the platform is authorization. To my knowledge though, he never did the online authorization and the Tou on manual is against the US set laws of ownership aggreement. If they can prove that the TOU was accepted then any action Geo did against the software of the ps3 would not be legal. Thats pretty much this case to my knowledge. I wait to see if any other info comes befoe the court hearing. Thats juut what i'm getting at now..

FYI for everyone.. I do believe this is a civil lawsuit with to my understandings means no jailtime even if found "guilty".

Exemptions for research and reverse engineering exist in the DMCA, but George Hotz does not meet the requirements of these exemptions as far as I'm aware.
