I don't know, but now you know that posting your specs might help us make the decision for you.Pentium 4 CPU 3.00Ghz (2Cpus)
768MB Ram
Ati Radeon 9200 128MB
-------------------------------------------
I am planning to get 512 MB Ram and a Nvidia Geforce Video card for around $150 .

I don't think a PC upgrade so small would be worth it.

Pentium 4 is out-dated badly, its not 2 cores ... its 2 threads.
You really need 2 GB ram these days.
and ofcourse the GPU.
If you want games now, I'd go with the Wii, you might wanna set a higher budget for the PC soon though.

wow. 250 wont cut it man.
I was thinking about this

AGP is not the way to go. I would get the Wii, but if you really want to upgrade, you're gonna need a new motherboard with PCI-e slots, a new processor (definitely), 2 GB of RAM, and a better GPU. PC gaming is expensive unfortunately.
I suggest getting the wii seeing as the big three are coming out this holiday season.
Wii's are going to be hard to find around the holidays, so you might as well get one now and upgrade your pc later.
ps: Get Zelda: TP, Super paper mario, RE4: wii edition*if you haven't already played it*. And keep in mind that Metroid prime3
is coming out in August.
My system is very similiar to your except I have a slightly better grafix card... we both have very outdated systems... like someone else stated 250 wont cut it.

:|.... Not getting ready for Crysis are you:lol:
I thought about it, and think you should get the PC. More games and more value. The Wii isn't a compelling purchase right now in comparison to the library of a PC. TrueReligion_
well i just upgraded my ram from 512 to 1.5gb for $40 and got a 7600gt for $80 with that ssame cpu i play fear max without soft shadows
ebay is a very special thing

Any mid-range PC can play Oblivion, Deus Ex, System Shock, Baldur's Gate, Fallout, Riddick, Starcraft, Warcraft III, and other quality titles that can't be found elsewhere. It's a better value than a Wii, in my opinion anyways.
I'm not sure if he wants to play new games like Bioshock and Crysis, but if he wants to play PC games he missed out on, $250 is well worth it.
but lack variety.vashkey
Aside from fighting games, the PC library is very diverse--so I'm not sure what you mean by that.

So if one would have a Pentium 4 2.8 and he upgrades rest, he would stillbe doomed to play any of the new games?

Irony I can play all those except Oblivion.
I have a question will I be able to play BF2 on high settings? That will solve it for me. demon565Not with the 7300.

He would be able to play all those with the 360 and PC he currently has.
As for whether BF2 will run at max settings, what card are you planning to buy?
