[QUOTE="iunderstand"][QUOTE="demon565"]that will let me run BF2 on high settings? demon565
It should, I'm not sure though.
ehhhh, oh and BTW your avatar is scary lol .
Personally, I'd recommend saving up for a brand new system. When you do eventually want to upgrade your system it likely won't accept agp cards or your new ram and you'll feel ripped off.
Not the first and not the last. ;)

I think he got confused about the RAM, to my knowledge he posted that he was getting a new card plus 512mb of ram for $150, but when he posted the link of his card, it was a 512mb 7300. So in otherwords i believe that he thought he was actually getting seperate RAM, when its actually just the RAM of the video card. Oh and i wouldnt upgrade unless ur planing on spending much more than $250, just get a wii for now and upgrade ur PC later.Just look at the games... it won't hurt to wait on a Wii, but unless you want to upgrade your PC that badly for a few games that you plan to buy now, then go for the PC. Though for me, I'm a console gamer so I would just go for a Wii...
And even though I do play Nintendo more than other systems, I would probably still choose a console over a PC, but that's just me. :| A strange preference I have...

I am planning to get 512 MB Ram and a Nvidia Geforce Video card for around $150 .

Pentium 4 is out-dated badly, its not 2 cores ... its 2 threads.
You really need 2 GB ram these days.
and ofcourse the GPU.
If you want games now, I'd go with the Wii, you might wanna set a higher budget for the PC soon though.
So if one would have a Pentium 4 2.8 and he upgrades rest, he would stillbe doomed to play any of the new games?
Doomed to medium settings, I'm using Pentium 4 3.2 GHZ with 8800 640 MB & 2 Gig RAM.
I struggle to max Stalker , I know I wont be maxing Bioshock or crysis anywhere near, or UT3 ect.
They are just not up to the job, sure you can play the games, but any intensity say in crysis or bioshock will lag your system.
Upgrade your graphics card. I have the same card and it's bottlenecking my whole computer. My specs are similar to yours.
Also, if like me your CPU is Hyper-Threaded, it isn't a true two core processor.
Upgrade your PC

If you deny the awesomeness and ownage of this list , then you are past blind fanboyism and should become an hero
Get a Wii. You will be exposed to a whole new library. I'm sure your PC will be able to run some new games, just not on high settings of course. I'm saying this as a current Wii60 owner and upgrading my PC this year ;).
EDIT: And with $250 you won't turn you PC into a supercomputer.
Contrary to popular beilef, yuo don't need a super computer to beat consoles.Get a Wii. You will be exposed to a whole new library. I'm sure your PC will be able to run some new games, just not on high settings of course. I'm saying this as a current Wii60 owner and upgrading my PC this year ;).
