5 GB on Mac. IIRC, the Orange Box has a shared asset base, so the first game you download from the set is huge.is the game 530mb or 5.3gigs? I can't really tell

It seems to depend on what you already have installed. My download for the PC version is just under 3.9 GB, but it also makes the download for TF2 significantly smaller (presumably because they share a bunch of Source-y bits (or should I say bytes?(Sorry.))). Not sure why yours would be that big though (is it the Mac version?).
Lol, everyone is praising Valve and happy that they'd simply just offer a deal like this, and this guy is trying to put everyone down. He's like the Scrooge of system wars. Why is everyone so excited for this? Shouldnt every Pc gamer have the orange box by now?

http://store.steampowered.com/freeportal/ "Well, technically speaking, there are some strings attached. Fortunately, they're entirely decorative. We just like the way they look, swaying in the gentle breeze created by a million people simultanously fainting from shock at the news that Portal is free. Now you have no reason not to try Portal. "I have a reason," some of you are probably typing into an angry email. "You see, sir, I own a Mac." Well guess what: For the first time ever, Portal is also available for the Mac. "Capital news! But the excellent puzzle adventure Portal won over 40 Game of the Year awards; Surely it must cost at least five or six hundred dollars." You'd think that, especially since it actually won over 70 Game of the Year Awards. But, like we keep saying, Portal is free. Free on the Mac. Free on the PC. But only until May 24th. So you only have a few days to decide if your free copy of Portal is worth the price we're currently charging - which is you ever-so-slightly moving your index finger just barely enough to click the big red "download" button right there to the left."Wait is it free for 12 days and then I have to pay or is it free period?

hahaha so true, those were the days, the days spent cursing steam into oblivion for not letting you get onto CS 1.6Man, I didn't get anything for free when I first downloaded Stream back in 2003. It really sucked back then, too! :P

I didn't program Steam. All I know is I'm getting past the same message by refreshing the page. Some of you may be wondering (especially if you haven't played the pc version before) where are the extra maps that were included in Portal Still: Alive for the 360. Well these maps must be manually added in since they are part of a mod. The mod is based off of the flash version of the game, the levels are very fast paced and more challenging then the original. The first step to get these maps is download file from the following link.
http://www.moddb.com/games/portal/downloads/portal-the-flash-version-mappack
Once you download this file open it with a .rar extracting program, such as winrar (32bit version)
http://download.cnet.com/WinRAR-32-bit/3000-2250_4-10007677.html
(64bit version)
http://download.cnet.com/WinRAR-64-bit/3000-2250_4-10965579.html
Once you open the file you downloaded in winrar (or whatever program you decide to use) extract all the files into the portal folder within your portal directory.programs86x/steam/steamapps/commonorwhateveryouraccnameis/portal/portal. Choose to merge the folders when the popup appears, and also choose to replace the files if you get a popup. Once this is completed go to your maps section of the main menu and load the mod which should be listed. Enjoy
I just realized something. None of the Cows or Hermits have come in and yelled "PC gaming is dying!". Thats rather unusual :o
