getting a ps3, should i get 360 also? (update 3/24/07)

Me again, if you already read this post a few days ago then read the red.

i am getting a ps3 when the metal gear solid 4 bundle comes out, that is comming home with me no matter what, but i will also have maybe enough for a 360, i am planning on either spending it all on games for my new ps3, or getting 360 with no games. if i dont get the 360, i will get turok, cod4, GTAIV,assasins creed,DMC4, and maybe a controlloer, or i might swich assasins creed for GT5P, or madden or something which should come out like a month later. it would take a little for me to get games later if i go the 360 route, what do you think i should do? buy the 360 AS WELL, or just get a PS3 with games and stuff? again the PS3 is comming home with me no matter what.

Edit (3/24/08): come to think of it, i might not even be too opposed to getting a wii instead of 360. tell me is it worth getting the ps3, and the wii with the mario galaxy, metroid prime 3 bundle? tell me what you think

I have a PS3 and a Wii, but I do wanna get a 360 eventually.. maybe not yet... I dont have the money.

However, if you like games like Fables, Gears, or Mass Effect, def get it.. however, if you have a killer PC like me, Mass Effect series is comming to PC.

Fables and Gears might come to PC.. but that wont be like more than a year later.. and usually I cant wait that long

Err...get a Ps3 with games and stuff. But do NOT get Turok. Get R6V2 instead, maybe. Or maybe Haze.thrones

i actually really like turok, i used to only buy games based on the cover, and when turok came out, i said, man that looks lame as hell, until i went to gamestop and the manager had put the full turok game in the ps3, (real game, not demo) and i was standing there for like an hour playing it, and really got into it, so yea, i really started liking it.

360 is better in every way for now, and in the whole 2008 IMO, so definaly get one too

360 has 2 games that offer a WORLD to live in, there is nothing remotly close to PS3, its games seem too ordinary for me

These two games far surpass PS3 graphics as well from what i have seen

So, definatly get a 360 at alla costs IMO

and what about RFOM? is it worth it compared to anything else ive listed? it looks somewhat alright, but i dont know if its worth it stillarmymen4

well gears of war is considered better than RFOM, but then again you could just get the PC version of gears

I've got both a PS3 and a 360 and honestly I love them both, I'd recommend getting them. Having both of the big consoles means you don't have to worry about petty fanboys or exclusives. You can just play games and not worry about the console.QualityJeverage

As do I have both... We get the best of both worlds... But I don't like the PS3 world. :(

ps3 - if you dont know what do do with your money

Well both consoles are pretty similar, and both have great games in all generas, so I would get a ps3 with some games.

If you get a 360, you wont be able to buy all the great games coming out for the ps3.

then if you want a 360 later, just save up thr £150 needed anfd get one.

But for now you only need the one console. I have both, and its really good, but if you buy a ps3, and have no games to play, it will suck. Its not that important to have both really, each on its own is enough, having both is just good for being able to get some exclusives yyou otherwise would have missed. but with the ps3's lineup in 08 and 09, you wont really need the 360 for a while.

i like n64 turok games!! but the last one is just bad!

Get the XBox 360 when GTA IV comes out and then get the PS3 when MGS4 comes out.

If you were smart you would just wait for the next price drops which will definitely happen for both systems before the year is over. I'll probably get a 360 Elite next year and sell my current XBox 360 because I want a system with the Jasper in it, plus I want a 120GB drive as well.

From what it sounds like, he can't afford to get a 360 with games and a PS3 with games, if he gets both it seems he won't be able to afford many games. It's better to get one console + more games than two consoles + fewer games.

I have both and both are great. I say get the 360 as well, simply because games like Gears of War and Halo 3 are just really REALLY fun to play, especially online. :)

If you are super into blureray get your ps3 and chill 4 a 360 price drop. If you are more into games get a 360 now and wait 4 a ps3 price drop. Also give ps3 more time and there will be better games. However at this point the 360 owns the ps3 when it comes to games. MSG4 looks cool but has nothing on all of the great games that the xbox has!

But in the end the 360 and the ps3 are good.

IF you get a PS3 no big D beacuse there are not a ton of games worth buying. (that you can't get on 360) If you want blue ray get the ps3. IF you want strong online play 360 easy!

OMG! get lost you stupid fanboys!! he already said that the ps3 is coming home with him! so its stupid to try n persuade him other wise. mate just get the ps3 and if you really want to play those games that you listed then go get all that stuff. i would get a Wii instead of the 360 just cause it offers different games and a different and fun way of playing them. go with a 360 if you want games like gears and mass effect or halo 3 right now.

combo i would pick: ps3, ANOTHER controller and a good 2+ player games and a Wii and like zelda or something, or if SSBB has come out get that (i dont know if its come out, i live in aus and it hasnt yet here...i think) or a combo of ps3/wii and a game or wateva u can afford on each side.

Yes the 360 and PS3 share alot of multiplats but by far the best combination. People say getting both is a waste of money and say the wii would be best to compliment both, but I don't think so. Even though the wii's first party support is superb its third party isn't and after seeing how bad the graphics in NMH looked in my opinion there isn't any good third games on the wii in my opinion. If your and hd tv owner like myself the 360 and PS3 are the only choice.

Just looking at the best exclusives alone on the wii, SMG, Zelda, MP3, SSBB I'd take 360 exclusives like GEOW1and2, Dead Rising, Bioshock, Halo3, Mass Effect, and NG2 over wii exclusives or PS3 exclusives like RFOM, Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, Ratchet, Folklore, Motorstorm, GT5, MGS4, Haze, FF13, Tekken 6 over the entire wii library. So I don't see why having both the PS3 and 360 is a bad thing:? This way you have all the best high def games out on any system.

The wii really wouldn't go good with my 52" inch anyways8)

Unless you're filthy rich or can save up money really well, do not buy a 360. Chances are, you won't get all the games on both because the games are expensive, and on top of that, you'll have to pay for online service for the 360. The PS3 is starting to gain momentum so don't make that mistake.
