OP. You have nothing to worry about. Gears2 annihilates anything on or coming for the PS3. This isn't an opinion btw. It's a technical fact.
What Sony adopters will never appreciate is that videogames aren't static images. They move.
The 360 has (in addition to slightly more memory) a superior pipeline and thus superior speed.

This sir, Gears of War 2 and KZ2 are exaclt on the same lvl. Cows just dont know it and people dont realise how much gears actually pushes with it's high res textures, the exellent pixel shading and lighting + bump mapping and the great particle effects in addition to the horde technology. And without a hint of a slowdown! Epic must be really really proub about that :)Yeah, I often wonder the same thing...

It might flop, it might not. So what gs needs to do is to do an official hype for this game so it can be locked and set in stone. Since i seen you post before and you've been more pro 360/anti ps3, i won't hold the last part of your post in high regard, especially since there have been more people that have been in the beta to love the graphics in the beta than not.

This same applies to KZ2 and Gears 2. Gears 2 pushes more in term of proccessing and gameplay mechanics. The only thing that KZ2 demands out of the PS3 power (significantly speaking) is it's lighting wich is top notch, but exaggerated, which gives the game it's great appealing look.

Anyway, its not that processing power demands too much, but it gauges the power AND the graphics. Little gameplay mechanics, poly proccesing, etc leave space to superb looking graphics, for example heavy rain. I am aware KZ2 pushes a lot, but imho not as much as gears 2 pushes. And please take into account that KZ has a more appealing look, that's one of the reasons people thinks its the best of the best when it comes to graphics.

How is it :D? i didn't get in - my boss did. played it at work once, it was pretty. that's for sure. not sure i can make any real decisions on what i think of it though. my problems were fast respawns, no cover in mp, and no bullet penetration. if that stuff doesn't bug you you might love it ;)
I think Xbox 360 has more or less peaked in terms of visuals. This year's tentpole games weren't really a whole lot better than last year's, while the PS3 continues to surpass itself year after year. In addition to PS3 being slightly more powerful, it launched a year later, so I think it's only natural to expect that it will peak later. At the very earliest, I think the PS3 might peak with Killzone 2, although it's still got quite a few games to go before we can make any such judgment.
If anything, I'd be more worried about Xbox 360's nonexistant 2009 lineup. It really makes me wonder: is Xbox 720 right around the corner?

What Sony adopters will never appreciate is that videogames aren't static images. They move.
The 360 has (in addition to slightly more memory) a superior pipeline and thus superior speed.

This sir, Gears of War 2 and KZ2 are exaclt on the same lvl. Cows just dont know it and people dont realise how much gears actually pushes with it's high res textures, the exellent pixel shading and lighting + bump mapping and the great particle effects in addition to the horde technology. And without a hint of a slowdown! Epic must be really really proub about that :) I have gears 2, whilst the textures are very nice the graphics are not on the same level as killzone 2, apart from the bits where your far away you never fight many enemies at once, theres never much going on screen, blur effects are minimal, aminations are avcerage. Killzone 2 has very nice textures, not quite as good, but the animations, amount going on and all the effects are what makes it stand out on a technical level. And when just about every gaming site is saying Killzone 2 is the best looking console game to date, its pretty hard to disagree...OP. You have nothing to worry about. You do fight many enemies at once in some parts plus horde, and even if they are far away they still got AI. There are times (specially in horde) where there is ALOT going on on screen, and i mean A LOT. The blur effects are there, but to a minimal extent (ie, you aim at a character and background blurs a bit, and with some movement). The animations are pretty good, but i give you that killzone 2 owns it in anymations. Plus technically it pushes a lot, its not just what you see on the screen there is a lot behind it to make it look that way. Wind, blood and water psysics, inside psysics for guts, dismember, great particle effects, water reflection (dinamyc), lighting affecting the texture bumpmapping to the very last detail, enemy ai (which is very good), destructible enviroments (although killzone 2 has it too), etc. They push around the same.I'm thinking the same thing.I think Xbox 360 has more or less peaked in terms of visuals. This year's tentpole games weren't really a whole lot better than last year's, while the PS3 continues to surpass itself year after year. In addition to PS3 being slightly more powerful, it launched a year later, so I think it's only natural to expect that it will peak later. At the very earliest, I think the PS3 might peak with Killzone 2, although it's still got quite a few games to go before we can make any such judgment.
If anything, I'd be more worried about Xbox 360's nonexistant 2009 lineup. It really makes me wonder: is Xbox 720 right around the corner?
