Ghost Recon: Future Soldier 7.5'd

Can't say I didn't see a low score coming, though I was still expecting an 8.0. Have to say, it leaves me a bit dumbfounded how games like this can release with co-op campaigns, an incredibly unique feature like gunsmith, and semi unique multiplayer and still score a whole unit less than MW3. Ah well, I was going to pick it up down the line anyway.

I'm not entirely surprised. I thought it would score higher. But, the standards these days are different I guess. I'll still pick it up some day.

meh, big deal. it is still a good score and campaign co-op means when i get around to playing it i will have a blast with my buddys.

even total crap like kane & lynch was fun in co-op.

Also why are people expecting games to get a 8-10 scores here on GS when they even openly admit they are gonna give games lower scores and are now gonna be 7.5spot instead of the 8.5spot the last two years.

Saw it coming a mile away. Got into the beta. Deleted it the next day.

After that marketing fiasco, it's clear what direction the game was going.

I'm not surprised. I never expect good things from cover-based button-awesome cinematic third-person-shooters, especially when it was supposed to be a tactical and fairly realistic game.

It looked good from what I saw.

Plus I read on a different website that the campaign was online co-op, it has a lengthy offline splitscreen co-op mode which can be played online co-op too, and online can be splitscreened.

But I'm not sure if thats confirmed or not.

Not surprised, the beta was one of the worst ive played. Its a shame one of the best series is COD'd now.

I really didn't see what people were hyping about when it came to Future Soldier. Bear in mind that I haven't bothered to watch a ton of gameplay but still. Also, that advertisesment with Coco put a REALLY bad taste in my mouth. It's clear what gaming demographic this game was going for.

While 7.5 is not bad I was expected 9.0 because from the videos I have seen it looked great. I never saw any multiplayer beta videos though.

I'll be getting Spec Ops: The Line instead.

I might pick it up when it hits the bargain bin,tho.

Exactly. Based on my experience with the game, I really like it, reviews be hanged.

The game engines that Ubisoft use for their shooting games like Rainbow Six and Ghost Recon are just kinda iffy. They don't perform as well as others, and have a whole bunch of oddities and glitches found throughout them.

One major thing that Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six games lack is polish, and that's exactly why their games don't score as well as the Battlefield, Call of Duty games etc. Battlefield and Call of Duty games are extremely polished.

Not from Treyarch! Regarding the PS3 version of Black Ops...

It's not the fact that a 7.5 is a low score. It's the fact that there are hundreds of games spanning multiple platforms that are scored 8 and above. It really just comes down to, "Why should I bother with a 7.5 game when there's hundreds of games rated an 8 and above"?

I mean, it isn't like there isn't a ton of competition out there in the industry. It isn't like there aren't a ton of better options.

That said, 7.5 is a great score for a fan of the series and followers of the Ghost Recon franchise. I am a fan of the series, and will probably pick this up when it drops in price.

It saddens me how different the game is from the original E3 demo. That version looked absolutely fantastic!

Products from adverts compared with the real world are very different. Adverts are false as always. :P

It was same with Killzone 2. E3's tech demo looked fantastic and actually looked like something off the PS4. But the actual game is quite close to that though in terms of visuals.

Nothing in the review justifies the score, if you take into account of other games in the genre:?

You're lucky to get that much - its not a ghost recon game. Its just a shoot 'em up, aping Call of Duty. The graphics looked terrible too. Horribly plastic faces.

7.5 is the new 8.5...

On Metacirtic I see majority 8 and 9's and the game looks good to me so I would say GS's score is head on.

Same thoughts TC , mainly regarding the comparison with the abomination that is COD , though I have a feeling that reviewers will wake up this year and blops 2 will do relatively bad.
