Ah, good to hear :)
Was starting to worry I was getting to old to hang around SW :P
That still remains to be seen at this time. Helping a downed teammate adds to the realism to a game similar to this one. I wouldn't want to be left behind if I still alive and injured; would you?

I think the point has been missed, GOW used this system but at least you yourself could go down and get a game over screen. This isn't about leaving team mates behind, this is about it being impossible to get a game over screen at any point.
You cannot actually lose the game, player skill is irrelevant when there is no negative impact of getting killed.
At the end of the day it is wait and see, but if they do take this approach my interest decreases considerably.

I think the point of your arguement is that you go down and automatically get a gameover. Not all games have to use this. I've played games that don't allow you to get a gameover; you just respawn at your last checkpoint (infinite lives also for some of them).
My arguement is that it makes it a bit more realistic. You have someone who has your back and can help you out the same way you can help them too. Example (if they use this in the future) a teammate goes down and you're prompted (automatically) to get them to a safe zone so you can revive them. It makes the game more realistic and shows compasion to your fellow man. Games like this (with computer controlled NPCs) were meant for you, the player, to rely on your allies to help you out; even if the AI on them is not very good at times.

Out of all the things I would call permanent invincibility; realistic is not one of them. You keep talking about team mates reviving you when this isn't what this is about, this is about not being able to lose; full stop. This is having a house dropped on you but your character recovers a few seconds later, it is gearing to ADD casuals who think going through a end game screen and continuing is torture.
Instant respawn may suit multiplayer shooters but it is not what I would consider suitable for a game like this, if you don't see that then I guess it is a preference issue.
I saw some whining about this on Kotaku. Yeah, if they already saw the gameplay videos, then what did they expect? It's always been a third-person shooter-style game, a la Gears or Uncharted. If they had been following it, then they would've been more educated on what the game was going to be like.
great news. i jusr hate that it said that it will be like gears of war. so does that mean cover system? locust? iam2greenYes. There will be locust in the new Ghostbusters game!

Streamline Teams With Terminal Reality On Infernal Engine
by Leigh Alexander
March 19, 2009
Ghostbustersdeveloper Terminal Reality has unveiled the "expansive relationship" with Streamline Studios previously teased by VP Joe Kleiner in a recent Gamasutra interview.
Production management house Streamline becomes "content creation partner" for Terminal Reality's Infernal Engine, the development engine the studio will launch formally next week following a licensing announcement last month.
Streamline will also use Infernal Engine for its own internal projects, and make it available to its production partners. The two companies will also share marketing and promotion for upcoming games.
The two companies also plan to set up "incubation programs" to help teams access and learn the technology with content creation support from Streamline. Together, they'll also partner in initiatives to extend the tech to students and aspiring developers.
Infernal Engine supports development on all current platforms except for the DS -- from the PSP to the Xbox 360 to the PC and Wii. It features a particle system, a content pipeline and "advanced" physics support.
Netherlands-based Streamline Studios recently announced an expansion of its operations, appointing two new business development execs to lead its endeavors in increasing co-production and forming new partnerships.
"As Streamline Studios moves into more co-productions, the Infernal Engine platform flexibility will give them a upper hand in development options, as well as reduce costs," says Terminal Reality's Kreiner.
"Our partnership with Terminal Reality will give us the ability to support one of the fastest growing engines on the market today and further expand our capabilities in deploying the highest quality external content creation services to the market," says Streamline president and COE Alexander Fernandez.
