Giant Bomb: White Knight Chronicles Preview

Giant Bomb talks with SCEA Producer Tsubasa Inaba about White Knight Chronicles in this video preview. This is the next game I am picking up.

My friend and i are both planning on importing this from the US due to it being released about a month earlier then here in Aus.

Famitsu score I'd rather ignore it cuz from what I've read what they said about the game didn't fit the score at all there is something fishy about their score and Eurogamer gave it a very good score and I trust them their scores suits my taste a lot they never failed me.

The preview put me on the fence about the game. It's cool that they carried the Dark Cloud build your own town feature. But to be honest, the game looks VERY bland from the preview. I'm so SICK of bland, uninspired JRPGs. However it looks like the combat has a nice twist to the regular turn based combat. I'll most likely Gamefly it.mythrol

Famitsus reviews can be a bit out there but I find them to be quite on the money with JRPGs, just my opinion though.

This game will bomb. Not only are the visuals completely underwhelming, but so is the story and gameplay. Level 5 usually doesn't disappoint, but WKC is the rare exception.

I dunno, it looked great when it was announced, but now I don't have the time for RPGs, and to be quite honest, the game doesn't seem that amazing anymore. There's FF13 and Star ocean 4 coming out in the same month for ps3 so why wouldn't I get one of those proven JRPG's? I guess I can wait for the price to drop...Roushrsh

FF13 comes out the month after WKC comes out.

I just use famitsu for details. I dont really take in their reviews. This game looks like a solid 8. Day 1 and my feb game

Yes, but I've been right more than I've been wrong. WKC doesn't have a "hook" like Demon's Souls. It's mediocre, it really is. You can wait for the review, though.

Yes, but I've been right more than I've been wrong. WKC doesn't have a "hook" like Demon's Souls. It's mediocre, it really is. You can wait for the review, though.

Doesn't look bad and the 4 player coop looks pretty fun and will draw me in more than the SP campaign. But it looks fun but I have no idea when I'll have time for it.

Hopefully by summer they'll still be plenty of people playing coop because with all the other titles out I'm just completely swamped with titles.

Honestly i have no idea why it took so long for this game to release i remember back in 2006 when i saw that tech demo when they were fighting in the woods my jaw dropped. The game has since than took a 180 degree turn and not in a good way. The story seems generic the battles seem uninspiring and dull and the graphics arnt what id expect for an exclusive. The game has been in development for so long and it looks even worse than that 2006 tech demo how does a company manage that.bigboss5ak

They wanted to make the online smooth and stable so some sacrafises had to be made.

I just wanted to troll your poll so thanks for finally having that option :), anyway I'll probably pick it up, just not at launch, I'll wait till its heavily discounted and then buy it.

I've been waiting for this game for a long time. Heck yeah I'll be picking it up. I just hope it delivers otherwise I'll be sorely disappointed.

TBH, that looks like what I expect from traditional Final Fantasy. Princesses, a medieval setting, a knight, etc. Can't wait.

I'm getting it. I need to purchase more exclusives for my Triple. Looks pants, although Eurogamers said it was good, and they are a decent place for reviews (not scores though)

I'm undecided. I'll wait and see what's up at the time.

I want to love this game, really I do, but my interest in it has been steadily decreasing as it gets closer to release.

I'm definitely still buying it, but I'll probably end up getting all the other RPGs coming out in the next few months before I get this one.

I heard somewhere else the story mode was 100 hours long, and I'm sure it could be if you really want to get everything and not speed run through. And yes the story does look average, that's great in a gen where every rpg has been below average. I don't know about you.. But I'm tired of RPgs with crazy hair do's, wacky J pop fashion and soap-opera like cut scenes.

This game reminds me of the game Summoner for the PS2.
