So some guy didn't write his opinion down. It was weird, because RDR was present in several Bombcasts and even had quicklooks for the original and Undead Nightmare.
heavy rain definitely deserves the fourth spot. SC 2's campaign was a borefest, the only redeeming aspect was the superb mutliplayer to be honest, I don't think it deserved any GOTY's. Cataclysm is a better blizzard product from my personal experience.
SC2's multiplayer is probably the most competitive and dynamic multiplayer I have ever played. The game is always changing and that's why it should win GOTY (obviously imo).

You do know they gave that game best ending and best story. No I don't know. Haven't been following GB GOTY show. EDIT: but it's not surprising, they were saying good things about it in Bombcast.

I figured it wouldn't. Probably because the first SMG cleaned up so much they didnt want to give it to SMG2. Not saying that's a good reason at all, but the gaming media has no consistency and never makes sense anyways.

it was an 8.0 game at best to be honest, all flash no substance.
Its a testament to the fact that great graphics and over the top violence can bring in the masses even if the gameplay is sub-par for its genre. Basically like Mortal Kombat in the 90s.

Eh.. It was pretty good but I just dont think its GOTY material. I dont get why in every GOW game, the first level or two are by far the best in the game and everything else is kinda downhill after that.. Especially in GOW III how mindblowing the intro was and the level after that.. everything else in the game felt kinda weak. Im all for starting a game off well but if thats the best part why continue? lol.. Or atleast thats how I felt about it.

And SMG2 is not like the other 10 games like MGS4, Zelda OOT, GTAIV, Chronocross etc, The Wii has significantly lower standards than the competing consoles unlike the n64/ps2/ps3
I agree. Sometimes I get the impression that the Gamespot staff doesn't like RPGs...or maybe they just don't like RPGs with guns.:?

Frankly, I think it makes more sense to award GotY to a game that measures up that can be enjoyed by the largest amount of gamers vs. catering to a single machine.
Thus, DA:O should have taken GotY last year over Demon Souls. DA:O > DS.

that doesn't make any sense at all, why give the goty to a game that it is on more platforms? To make people feel good about their system? meh let's give to Cod then, every year
