I wouldn't have any reason to buy a Wii either, except that Brawl is coming out this Sunday, and if it's anything like the last Smash Bros games, it's value is higher than any other game I've played (I still play Melee today.)

But as for the PS3 and te 360, I don't see any reason to buy them at all. None of the games that have been released so far carry any sort of value for me.

MGS4 tempts me toward the PS3, but not enough to make me drop $700 for it, especially when I know that a cl as s ic series like Metal Gear will have some sort of anniversery edition including MGS4 somewhere down the road, and likely for a system I already have (Like the PC.)

So I ask you, can you give me ONE reason why I should buy these systems?

if you don't like the games why would you buy either of them?7CloudStrife7

That's the point. So far I see nothing that could justify buying the system, but I could be wrong.

You cant find a reason to buy a console? Why are you on Gamespot if you dont like games? I say this because there are so many good games out and if you cant like one...

It sounds like you already have your mind made up. So why shoud I waste time trying to change your mind? Buy one or don't buy one, personally it doesn't really matter to me and likely doesn't matter to anyone else here on SW. These threads show up on a daily basis with the same comments everytime.

so you don't like rpg/fps/tps/action/action,aventure/sports/racing/ect. because both system carry each type of game. ethier you like one or 2 games out there or your just blind and don't like AAA or AA games because both systems are full of them.

Name them.

Devil May Cry 4 is the same as DMC3 - meaning I'm fine with my PS2

Halo never appealed to me, I fell asleep after 1/2 an hour of playing it. Even that said, I'm sure playing Halo 1 on some used X-Box is about the same experience without the graphics upgrade.

Assassin's Creed is getting a lot of crap from my friends.

Orange Box is available on the PC.

The only one I can think of that I would LIKE to play is Dead Rising - but that's more of a supplementary game that you get incidentally along with your core games.

Now if Dead Rising was on the PS3 along with MGS4... Throw in another core title and they may just get a purchase from me.

The problem with most games that have come out is that they are basically the SAME EXACT THING as something that has been released before- or I can get them cheaper on a different platform (Namely the PC.) The only real difference i've seen so far is the graphics, and that's a pretty STUPID reason to do anything I think.

That's like saying "My basketball is better than yours because mine has stripes". If it's the same game, it's the same game, it's not worth dropping a substantial amount of money about equal to one month's expenses on it. (Rent, food, etc.)

When are the NEW experiences going to be released? Honestly the Wii seems to be the only console with that sort of potential (Even though it hasn't done hardly anything to live up to that potential yet.)

Like I said, MGS4 should be awesome, but I can wait if that's going to be my only reason.

Here's one unrelated to games, since you don't seem to like them much. If you have an HDTV, you could get a PS3 for Blu-ray. Its the same price as the cheapest blu-ray player, so you might as well buy it if you're looking to go to HD movies. Then maybe, just maybe, a game might come out that interests you, so you'll have that option.

then your fine with your gamecube because brawl is just about the same thing.

uncharted

folklore

rachet and clank ect. don't interest you.

have fun playing ps 2 graphics for another gen then.

GARRYTH

First note; You're right, Brawl has been reported to be an upgraded version of Melee. But it include something crucial to me; Internet play. Right now I'm at college and am 800 miles away from many of my old gaming buddies. Having Brawl over Melee spans that gap nicely. Not to mention, i've never owned Melee, or a Gamecube for that matter; I just played with my friends since they all had one anyway. When it comes to Internet Play, it's actually worth having the system myself.

Second, what is Uncharted, just listing names doesn't do anything for me. If it's got a crappy score on the reviews (Below an 8) then I usually don't pay attention to it unless I've heard of it before. Folklore - same problem

Ratchet and Clank - I've played all of the games on the PS2, and I've sold all of them back again because they wore out. It's not worth buying a system for something that is such a novelty. It's gotta have lasting value, which means either impressive movie/novel quality storyline, lasting and fun Multiplayer, or fantastic and engaging slow-to-get-old fast-to-feel-new gameplay.

Let me give you an example for each of those qualities:
Metal Gear Solid - Great Story - one I can show my friends and one which we all enjoy - I know this is my opinion, but it's the case never-the-less

Smash Bros - Multiplayer. I don't think I need to expound on this point; if I do, then you must just suck at the game.

Resident Evil 4 - Awesome Gameplay - It's the first game I've played that I could play it over and over again and still not be bored of it. I'm still working on Mercenaries mode and Professional mode.

And as I said before, Graphics really, REALLY don't matter if the game isn't fun.

I've actually considered that point, but so far there aren't any blue ray movies I'm just dying to get either.

Chances are, by the time there is, the non-ps3 players will be affordable.

Why are you guys even bothering? He likes his Wii and PC...his mind is made up. He simply wants us to give our opinions so he can aruge the superiority of his chosen gaming platforms. Just let this thread fade away into obscurity.

You should just give up on gaming all together. If NONE of the games on the PS3 or 360 excite you, then you really aren't a gamer. SSBB is unique, but if that's all you like, then get a Wii and play that one game for the rest of your life. Real gamers like a variety of games and will play many different genre of titles. There are many games on all 3 systems that have value. If you can't see that, then you don't really need to be playing video games. Adios!! ;)

I think you contradicted yourself. You just said you are tired of playing the same exact thing over and over again. You want something new. Well SSBB is the same game as the one on the Gamecube only with new characters and better graphics. It also has online play which is cool. Also MGS4 is also, the same game as the other MGS games, but with better graphics and new story, online play and maybe a couple extra things. So why would you want to play these titles if they aren't much different from the older titles. The game is the same dude. I think you should just stick with your PC. At least you'll get to play Spore which will be unique from other titles.

mass effect is better on pc !

halo is not really a new experience and without live which cost extra too play its crap

metal gear solid = 80% movie 20% game its a cool movie but normally movies cost not that much !

ninja gaiden = never played

ssbb has so much replay-value and that why people like it so much and not those 6 hours visual games

I'm glad someone sees it my way.

Although I am an admitted fanboy of MGS.

Can you tell me honestly that you see yourself playing those games again in 5 years? It's a pretty big buck for something you aren't, and that's my point.

I KNOW I will be playing Brawl at least until the next one comes out, which would be 5 years if it's the same wait between melee and Brawl.

Well, if there's nothing on Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3 which you find absorbing, then don't purchase Xbox 360 or Playstation 3. I didn't purchase Wii because there's not a game that affects me with a feeling of interest.

uncharted got AAA every were else but here. it is cross between gears of war and tomb raider. plus tekken 6 and tekken 5 for the ps 3 has online as well if you like tekken series. http://www.gametrailers.com/game/2654.html if this game does not interest you then i think nothing will. this game got mixed reviews on the internet but nothing under 7 http://www.gametrailers.com/game/4861.html it is a 15 hours action/rpg. and if these graphics alone does not grab your attention for you to go back to this series then ow well http://www.gametrailers.com/game/4572.html . here is another exclusive coming out this year for the ps 3 if you like being a super hero http://www.gametrailers.com/game/5157.html . have you played shadow of the colossiss before because team ico is working on a ps 3 game as we speak. then you get mgs 4. here is another one for you to chech out http://www.gametrailers.com/game/4491.html this one i now you will like.

[QUOTE="mstc_Q"][QUOTE="GARRYTH"]then your fine with your gamecube because brawl is just about the same thing.

uncharted

folklore

rachet and clank ect. don't interest you.

have fun playing ps 2 graphics for another gen then.

And as I said before, Graphics really, REALLY don't matter if the game isn't fun.

uncharted got AAA every were else but here. it is cross between gears of war and tomb raider. plus tekken 6 and tekken 5 for the ps 3 has online as well if you like tekken series. http://www.gametrailers.com/game/2654.html if this game does not interest you then i think nothing will. this game got mixed reviews on the internet but nothing under 7 http://www.gametrailers.com/game/4861.html it is a 15 hours action/rpg. and if these graphics alone does not grab your attention for you to go back to this series then ow well http://www.gametrailers.com/game/4572.html . here is another exclusive coming out this year for the ps 3 if you like being a super hero http://www.gametrailers.com/game/5157.html . have you played shadow of the colossiss before because team ico is working on a ps 3 game as we speak. then you get mgs 4. here is another one for you to chech out http://www.gametrailers.com/game/4491.html this one i now you will like.

i think you dont get his point

buy a ps3 600 with that top game uncharted, maybe a hd tv course of the fantastic visuals (thats why it deserves that big score)

play it 15 hour and at the end of the day you ask yourself why you spent sooo much money for 15 hours

If Tekken6 - God of War 3 - Gt 5 - Msg4 - Twisted metal - Heavy Rain - Uncharted - Motorstorm1-2 - FF13 -MGO - FFversus -KZ2 -LBP - Wipeout and so many other games that gonna release on PS3 doesnt make you feel like own one, then stick to Brawl!!

And dont ask for reasons, i gave you too many already. Plus both x360 and PS3 will have some extremely nice and cool Multiplatforms like COD4-AssasinsCreed- DMC4 -GTA4 - SF4 (they say PS3 exclusive but i doubt it) - RE 5 - SH5 - and so many others that Wii wont see ever. Arent these nice reasons for you to own a PS3-360 or something? If not then stick to Brwal or mario kart. Its simple as that

[QUOTE="RazMaTaz-1"]If you dont buy a console for games like Ninja Gaiden, Metal Gear Solid, Halo, Mass Effect and others, then you seriously havnt experianced gaming.fishfake

mass effect is better on pc !

halo is not really a new experience and without live which cost extra too play its crap

metal gear solid = 80% movie 20% game its a cool movie but normally movies cost not that much !

ninja gaiden = never played

ssbb has so much replay-value and that why people like it so much and not those 6 hours visual games

Yes but there are some ppl that like to play other games than kiddy image ones despite values or anything.Want to compare games?

NHM VS DMC4-GoWar3-NGsigma!!

Mario Kart VS GT5-Burnout Paradise!!

SSBM VS Tekken6-SF4-SoulCalibur4!!

???? VS MGS4 = There isnt any game alike on Wii isnt?

FATAL FRAME4 VS RE5-SilentHill5!!!

FFchronicles VS FF13 ??!!!!

The only genre that nintendo seems to be ahead is Platform where its the original Mario genre And wins clearly with no doubts at all. Even if i prefer Ratchet i can see and i admit the SMG superiority.

So,there isnt any reason to continue this comparison togames is it? About Halo new experience, plz dont talk about new experiences on Wii because not only is an advanced Gamecube and nothing more, games are kinda the same. Mario kart wont be? SSBM wont be ? I mean come on. Controller doesnt add to games excitment. Game itself must be exciting and good and then enjoy the controls.Whats the new experience on Wii except SMG? come on now...

i prefer games which takes many month before it get bored and not just in 1 day but you can rent those games :)

Well looks like you should buy a Wii if anything cause ur a major casual gamer.... oh i can play the same thing, just with bad graphics.
If u pick up a 360 or ps3 u can play lots of games online. More great games are coming out this year. Plenty of shooters to choose from unless instead of COD4 u rather play COD2 then its up to u.

if you dont enjoy games, there's no reason to buy any console. Do you like any games?
