What's going on in your Sig Stevo? Stevo_the_gamer
So basically you're calculating a games value off of Gamespot Review scores. Thanks for clearing that up :P
Well then your sig is pretty contradictory. All I'm saying... c'mon Stevo, I've seen you bust the spread sheet out. What's the spread sheet based off of again? :P
Opinions are welcome, but GS's opinions obviously hold more ground... since SW has always viewed their reviews as THE credible source. Face it guys... this is nothing new.

[QUOTE="leadernator"][QUOTE="FIipMode"]
No we actually don't go by only GS review scores.
FIipMode
Really? Please explain what determines a 'flop' in System Wars then.
A GS review score, and that is it. No one is even talking about a flop here so why would the "Only GS counts for flops" rule even apply here? We were talking about some of the characteristics of the game.Well if a GS review score can determine what a flop is.... it can also determine whether or not a game is awesome. AAA is awesome, we all know that. Infamous is a AAA game. Infamous is awesome.
You can't view GS as a credible source only when it favors you.

Here's what your problem is, I'm not saying the game isn't awesome, in fact I've already said it's one of my favorite games this gen, that said it has some flaws like a lame cast and some repetitive side missions.
I mean if someone criticizes a game and you just go "Boom AAAE haters" without arguing a point is .....let's think of a word that won't get me modded, er..lame, it's very lame.

GS review scores have always held more value than a personal opinion IN SYSTEM WARS. This is nothing new, and this whole 'buh buh my opinions!' won't change any time soon.

Lame characters and repetitive gameplay... you're going to stand by that and still think the game is awesome? The game's strong points are its story and gameplay... that's pretty much the strong points in most single player games.
Just saying, that's a pretty big criticism, and doesn't really compute to the game being awesome.

What's to downplay, my sig is there to poke humor--it's so silly that no one *should* take it seriously; mostly just there to fill my tear jars from the fanboys' crying/raging.
No.
No. In regards to flops and metagame -- Gamespot is the only venue. Outside of that, each opinion is welcomed to be expressed. For example, in the metagame, MGS4 is a prime exclusive; yet in the minds of many here, it's not worthy of that status and all of them can easily explain why that is. But their opinions do not nullify the metagame, or the flop venues.
You are bringing in a discussion here that this thread had nothing to do with. You brought the wrath upon a few folks because they were critiquing tiny parts of the game... and their opinion was invalid because Gamespot said so. I think that's a wee-bit silly, and in the words of Flip... very lame.

Characters is a nice plus, but having a lame cast is never going to break a game for me.
And it did not say the whole game was repetitive I've been saying since the thread started that the SIDE missions in the first 2 island were repetitive, too many missions having you doing the same thing until you moved to the last island where it freshened up again. The main missions? Fantastic, especially going into the Dustmen hideout.
They aren't game breaking criticisms just some flaws in the game, it obviously isn't perfect, I'm honestly surprised you have such a hard time taking this all in.

And what's wrong with me using the Gamepsot Review score as a source to back up my case?
Metagame... flop venues... You're basically saying that you want to go use gamespot's criticisms only when it favors you. I think you guys need to have stronger grounds than that. I never said people's opinions aren't welcome, but if I don't agree, I'll obviously have something to say.
Stevo, you can say that your sig doesn't hold face value, or it's meant to be taken as a joke... but really, judging by your post history and which side you usually end up taking in arguments... it's pretty clear what your true intentions were in creating that sig.
MGS4 is a prime exclusive. Do I argue for it? Yes. Do I use GS's review as a source for back up? Yes. You guys all do it, and it's funny how this time FOR SOME REASON, you four posters think thats wrong.

Wasn't clear? really? My post was
The characters were nothing special(This means, that the characters.....weren't special, a lame cast if you will.), and for the first 2 islands the side missions were quite repetitive(This means that for the first 2 islands, the side missions....were samey for the first 2 islands).
That's what I've said since this convo started, nothings changed since then.
Apparently Uncharted was the influence, I can see why.wow the first was incredible and the second looks so much improved :D

You never said the main missions were fantastic since the beginning, did you? Anyway, I get what you're saying now. You followed up with MFDOOM's post, which was way too general.
I do however, disagree with your opinion on the cast. Going by the events that happened in the story (without giving spoilers), it makes more sense for the focus to be more towards Cole and his best friend.
Repetitive in the beginning... you may be right, but it's nothing in it that's more repetitive than other games in its genre. IMO of course.
I forget is there a release day for this? Cause it just jumped right up the list of games I want lool. Seriously it looks pretty awesome.

May 24th is the rumored date.Really? *Jumps around in excitement*Looks good. Cows will probably hype this as AAAE 9.5 and throw a huge fit if it 8.5's, which I think it will. Whatever, it looks good. I still haven't played a lot of the first one though. SilverChimera
I think an 8.5 is possible, but a 9.0 is likely. I mean there hasnt been many advancements since Infamous 1 in sandbox games, and this appears to take infamous 1 and give it better graphics, facial animations, story, action, diversity and so on. So when they give the original a 9 and this one is better in everyway (so it would seem), you would think it would receive a 9.0 or so.
