2010 Year of the PS3?

I never got why people said God of War 3 would release in 2009. God of War 1, God of War 2, God of War Chains of Olympus all released in March. No way God of War 3 was coming out in March 2009. March 2010 sounds much more likely.NocturnalNoctis
But if you want to look at another trend God of War 1 and 2 were released only 2 years apart... dang I can't believe God of War 2 has been out for 2 years lol.
But yeah, God of War III will be when me (and a few of my friends) get a PS3.

the difference though is GoW2 essentially used the same engine as GoW1....so creating it wasnt a ground up process. This is the teams first next-gen engine that needs to be built from the ground up.

Yeah I know, I was just pointing that out. Anyways, even so they have had to been working on this game for a minute, so why is it so far away? The CELL must be heck to program for. No wonder Sony has lost so much developer support.

what exactly did sony lose for developer support? Games have gone multiplatform, but not lost. The same can be said for 360 too however (Dead Rising 2, BioShock etc on PS3)....the only dev. that shunned the PS3 that I recall is Valve.

i dont think you have any idea what your saying.
i admit i would have loved i GOW3 made it for 2009, but i can wait as long as the final product is amazing :)
This year there are many other exclusives which am looking forward to like KZ2,Heavy Rain, WKC, Infamous, Uncharted 2 etc etc
2010 - GOW3 & GT5 & maybe Resistance3.... sounds good :P

Bioshock came on the PS3 like a year after the 360 version, and Capcom is now multiplatform (DR came out before the PS3 came out). Even Square is giving Microsoft more love than Sony this gen. The only devs Sony still has exclusively is Konami with Metal Gear Solid 4, and that's it.

You're joking right? Sony has more exclusive development teams than microsoft does......

All first/second party. Sony has lost exclusivity for Final Fantasy, GTA (day one), Tekken, Devil May Cry, Katamari, and many, many more (such as WWE and Guitar Hero).
The PS3 just isn't worth making exclusives for, unlike the PS2.

Doesnt matter.....you still havent shown where they "lost" developers, all the games you just named are still on the PS3....devs just want to make more money and go multiplatform nowadays because game dev costs are so high

For Sony games going multiplat should equal losing considering the PS2's success. For Sony the stakes are higher and they fell totally flat.
You guys shouldn't waste your time arguing with AHUGECAT. He's a fanboy, arguing with them will get you absolutely nowhere.NocturnalNoctis
clearly, look at his sig....I never understood why people blindly bash other video games.....wouldnt you rather play them than bash them? That is the gamer thing to do afterall.

I just do not like the PS3, the games are not that great. LittleBigPlanet is tedious and boring (playing the levels are boring), and Metal Gear Solid 4 made me want to play the game rather than watch it.
Ur really using this as a source.finalfantasy94Even without the sauce, its much more likely then releasing in 2009. God of War 3 isn't coming out in March 2009. Sony has enough exclusives this year already. They could interfere with God of War 3's sales. March 2010 sounds much more likely imo.
I would think more people cared about the God of War? :(jharvEverybody is in the Killzone 2 thread.
Aw nuts. Not surprised though. March 2010 is only 3 months later than everyone was hoping. Looks like Sony chose GT5 for their big holiday title instead.Floppy_Jimhmm, I think you could be right. GT5 will sell alot, and will only benefit from holiday sales. Would be a wise thing to do imo.

I'll be surprised if it releases in 2009. Seems more likely for Holiday 2010.

If we go into 2010, and people are saying "the year of the ps3!" im ganna loose it.Sneaky_GopherEvery year is the year of the PS3 according to cows. Every year the 360 puts the final nail in the coffin of PS3 according to lemons
