i have this really weird feeling the PS3 launched 2-3 years too early... i don't know why...VideoGameGuy
No, it launched a year too late. This allowed MS to sell it's RRoD 360 to people who really wanted a PS3.

[QUOTE="killerfist"][QUOTE="Floppy_Jim"]Aw nuts. Not surprised though. March 2010 is only 3 months later than everyone was hoping. Looks like Sony chose GT5 for their big holiday title instead.Floppy_Jimhmm, I think you could be right. GT5 will sell alot, and will only benefit from holiday sales. Would be a wise thing to do imo. Well, I was always saying that Sony would have either GOW3 or GT5 as their big holiday title. Looks like they chose GT5. GT5 isn't coming this year either. They are stuck with Uncharted 2 as their big holiday game (which isn't all that big). I'm ok with that , I will love me some Uncharted 2.

I'll be surprised if it releases in 2009. Seems more likely for Holiday 2010. Yeah, even without GOW or GT, their lineup is still awesome. And if last year is anything to go by, Sony still have a couple of unannounced games for the holidays.

GT5 will sell alot more than GOW3 thou, which is why I think it's the better option. If this is true that is.
The GT franchise is gold, i think gt5 will sell at least 5 mil units, it could even pass the 8 mil mark :D

that's very subjective. while the RROD is definitely unacceptable, the 360 still has an overall higher rated library of games, and a cheaper price point. in that respect, sony has really dropped the ball this gen, and subsequently lost a lot of consumers.Did you actually just link me to hiphopgamer for a source of accurate gaming news? ActicEdgeUnfortunately, lots of people do. How that guy got invited to E3 is beyond me.

Meh, I'm not too big on GoW, so if I get Heavy Rain, Alan Wake, and Brutal Legend this year, then I'll be a happy person.BioShockOwnzBrutal Legend? The Jack Black game?
time to update list warsst1kaAdd it to rumored to prevent a cow uproar.

Most of the stuff he gets is off of N4G and stuff. I dont find him reliable at all. He's misspoken plenty of time and comments on the most ridiculous rumors that he finds on the internet... for example, GTA 5 going PS3 exclusive.

It'll be ok for gamers because we play great games all the time and great games come when they come , but it will be a bummer for Sony at the holidays without a major title once again to reach a bit of a mass market level. Maybe they get lucky and Final Fantasy XIII will release in Japan by then to make the sales beat-down less worse.[QUOTE="Floppy_Jim"] Well, I was always saying that Sony would have either GOW3 or GT5 as their big holiday title. I hate how they advertise the system, the games, and Blu Ray all in one 30 second commercial because then they dont focus on just one thing. The "Entertainment Unleashed" commercial is good and all, but they need to focus on ONE game and make everybody want it. They arent going to say, "I need that game" seeing a 5 second clip of Nathan Drake jumping ledge to ledge. With all that said, I'm sure Sony will have more than just one "must have" holiday game this season. Unless they pull a Nintendo. lol.Nike_Air

Did you actually just link me to hiphopgamer for a source of accurate gaming news? Wow, I'm speechless, come back when you have a more credible source that doesn't use the March 31 crap as a window.ActicEdgeHip Hop Gamer has been right like 90% of the time with the stuff they said last year.

Unless they pull a Nintendo. lol. They always run game specific ads for their bigger games , then on top of that they have commecials that show a collection of great things about the ps3 to promote the platform including a collection of games.I think they do it pretty well , they just don't do it enough (especially in the primetime/network TV slots) because of their financial situation. We all think we could do a better job with the ads for better results , but probably not at the end of the day.
In 2007 - Uncharted , Heavenly Sword , and Ratchet all had games specific TV ads ..... then they had those cool commercials that showed the ps3 and games off there as well to support those game specific ads. This year they had LittleBigPlanet , Motorstorm PR , and R2 ads - then the wishlist ads , Entertainment unleashed (supported games and blu-ray) , Network ads (supported games and the network card) , movie download service ads (still supported Resistance 2 and the new Motorstorm)
In 2008 - they'll probably have Uncharted 2 , the next Ratchet , and maybe Heavy Rain (or something) :?, then they'll run additional ads meant to excite and educate the people about the platform in general. It's all they can do really besides a holiday bundle and a freebie pack-in game and movie like usual. The ps3 will probably be $299 by then to compete with the competition , but the marketing budget will likely have to suffer to compensate for that. They just won't have those games that will really hit home with the mass market this upcoming holiday anyway ...... they'll get beat down by cheaper systems and bigger marketing budgets , a Halo 3 expansion , and probably Mario Party 9 (or is it 10 already?) and game packaged with a peripheral.
Here.
2010 Year of the PS3?
well yea, this year and next year is. Also 2008 was.I only have a ps3 and older PC, but i can easily wait for this game to be polished. Plenty of great games coming out this year to keep me occupied. Killzone 2, RE5, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. I will be perfectly fine waiting til next year to get God of War III, FF XIII, FF XIII versus, and Gran Turismo 5. whodeysay85i was on the fence with KZ2, but the recent ign review looks promising :)
I hope this game has a behind the back view point like Gears, Dead Space, and MGS4. Detailed gore and death sequences. Also, I expect Kratos' brother to make his debut. Since this is the last God of War game with Kratos, i'm fully expecting his brother to suddenly kill him in one of the most shocking/sad/emotional video game scenes ever. Then he can take over after God of War 3. God of War 3 isn't a predictable series, anything can happen. The hero doesn't always win. Some wouldn't even consider Kratos a hero.NocturnalNoctis
