If they continue the series than I hope they revamp the gameplay. The "If it ain't broke, don't fix it saying" no longer applies. God of War 3 felt like deja vu on my first playthrough

God of War 3... one of the games I was hyped for this gen that ended up disappointing the crap out of me. Aside from certain wow moments, the game was a poor successor to God of War 2.

That said, I'm not interested in a 4th game unless it's done by David Jaffe or Cory Barlog.

The only way to continue GOW now is to take it to another setting. I think Egyptian Mythology is perfect, not going with Norse because it's expected and besides I want to see Egypt Gods presented in gaming as I don't think it has ever happened. Would be awesome Kratos fighting King Tut and all those animal face gods, lol. I'll buy it!

EDIT: What sucks the most is it was the 80GB with BC. Can't get those anymore unless you want to buy used and I don't.

He also said his version of GOW III was killing Zeus at the start. Then the game plays out as other gods from different mythology have seen the gods of Greece fall they try to move in and take over the area. It has Kratos battling a lot of variable enemies from different areas. One of the fights was supposed to be Kratos vs the Sphynx in Egypt as a living creature but Kratos uses medusa's gaze to freeze it and thats why it sits where it is today.

To be honest Jaffe's version sounds much more fun and hectic

Yep. GOW III kind of got derailed a bit. 3 had the potential to be an all out war between titans and gods and have Kratos in the middle. Thats what it was marketed and hyped as and the start of the game certainly promised it but then you fell to hades and away from the big fight. Then it just dropped you in and out of things randomly almost. It should have kept you in the middle of falling titans and fighting Gods

Didn't Kratos run out of Greek gods to kill? Is he going to be fighting Odin and Thor in the next one? :|Timstuff

Its still a relatively young franchise with potential.

A franchise's magnum opus generally releases in the next decade after its introduced. Think Ocarina of Time, Resi 4, etc
