This is a big deal why?   God of War III had a section where a woman died in a horrible fashion in Posiden's Chamber so Kratos could keep a door open.   God of War has never been a series that is trying to push forward the idea of treating women as anything more than sex objects for Kratos to conquer during his adventures.  About the only woman that gets any respect in the series was his own wife and Athena. Â
Â
And to be honest, this is not really that far from how women were really treated in ancient greece.  Granted, God of War kinda plays things up, but if anyone is expecting equal rights in a game series based on Ancient Greece with a hero who kills virtually everything that crosses his path, than people really need to find better things to focus on.
Â
I'm not saying its right, but people are taking this a bit far.  Instead of focusing on the treatment of virtual woman in a video game based on Greek Mythology, why don't we devote our time and resources to helping real woman who might have problems?
Â
By the way, it turns out that this is gotten from doing it to a female monster. So we're not even talking about an innocent woman. Did he even play God of War III?  Has he played any on the previous games?  And yeah, the trophy is an imature joke.   But its not given after Kratos brutally kills an innocent human woman. He gets it for killing a monster from greek mythology.
Â
One other thing I want to note.  A trophy was given in God of War III for shoving Posiden's Princess into a gear and using her as a door stop.  She dies in a horrible fashion and unlike the fury, she was a normal human who was innocent and had done nothing wrong whithin the context of the storyline.
Â
And this is the part where none of this makes any sense. It's suddenly a bad thing and horribly sexist to get a trophy called "Bros Before Hoes" for stomping a female monster's head that was a clear enemy to Kratos. But where was everyone when Kratos shoved an innocent woman into a gear and got a trophy called "I dind't do it... But I wish I did?"   Out of anything, that was the one thing in the series that make me squirm and think that the developers had gone too far. Â
Â
But that's my issue. It's a horrible double standard.  Kratos basically has his biggest **** moment in the series by killing an innocent woman to open a door after dragging her around and putting her in mortal danger, and I don't remember anyone making a fuss about it. But Kratos stomps the head of female monster who had helped torture him and its suddenly the worst example of sexism in gaming history.  Did Adam Sessler or any of the other people rasiing a fuss play God of War III? Â
