God of War is now the 3rd largest game on YouTube

Dat BOI! God of War is becoming the fastest game to 1 billion views on YT.

According to data from Matchmade (the leading influencer marketing platform that analyzes over 2.4 Million gaming-related YouTube videos and 220M videos), God of War has become the third largest game on YouTube – with viewership growing at 1402% from March to April. Since its release on April 20, YouTubers are loving the action-adventure hack-and-slash mythology-based game. One could argue that it’s easy to grow from non-existent to existent, but God of War has become the third largest title on YouTube - becoming a dominant game in just four weeks since launch...

...At this moment, God of War is riding a massive popularity wave as it’s already close to reaching 1 billion views - with 728 million views in April . The game might end up breaking the record of fastest game to reach 1bn views since launch in the history of YouTube. As comparison, Fortnite reached a cumulative 1bn views in just 5 months since they launched the game, and 3 months since they released the Battle Royale mode. According to our data and best educated guesses, God of War could reach 1bn total views in June or July - thus beating Fortnite. We shall continue to observe!

And this isn't even a multiplayer spectator-type game, but a game with enough strategy and content and mechanics to keep people enthralled in it long after the fact. This is people looking up tons of info related to it, and they can't get enough. Not bad for a single-player experience. It's now become a damn phenomenon.

If GoW is becoming this much of a single-player wunderkind now, I can imagine a similar success for Spider-Man.

Most of my posts here are a bit tongue in cheek, but being serious, I honestly think the youtube views are so high b/c there are just SO MANY puzzles in this game, people get tired of them, and just look up the solutions to get to the next fight and part of the story. I know I did, and that is something I usually don't do while gaming. But the puzzles got old pretty early on and just never...ever...stopped.

I know have I to throw my axe at 3 seals/bells, I'm not going to waste time running around the map again looking behind every rock to find them...again.

I'm just thinking Sony would prefer that these people were paying to play the game instead of watching it for free on YouTube.

Most people that make those videos on YT or Twitch say that it helps sales and word to mought and other stupid stuff to not get their videos taken down.

Guess we should contact Sony and tell them to shut down everything so you can go and buy and not have the option to even see it untill you pay for the game. Also, copyright claim all reviews.

Probably why it's the most watch comes from how to defeating those damn Valkyries, there locations and watching there moves is why it's the most watch on youtube. I can tell ya know, those Valkyries are a bitch, especially the Valkyrie Queen!!!

You should look at something more active than passive. More people use Twitch for game streaming than any other service but we both know why you wouldn't use Twitch. :)
