What a dumbass comparison. Who cares? Witcher 3 is overrated trash. This is just more damage control do to GOW's dominance.
it's pretty funny that you think TC is damage controlling over GOW

@drlostrib: I don't get why new AAA's that review well are always immediately compared to The Witcher 3. They should leave it alone and let it be great lol
@mighty-lu-bu:
Well, that explains why you like Witcher 3's combat. Frankly, I fucking hate it! Hate it with a passion! That's the one thing that has stopped me from playing Witcher 3 all the way through. Everything is great but that damn combat system!
“I hate TW3’s combat” = “I prefer games that help me out with the combat, I hate having complete deliberate control of my character during a fight, I blame ‘faulty mechanics’ for my inability/unwillingness to learn and adapt, also I imagine other games’ combat systems to be better than they actually are.”

my hunch (although I admit I could be waaay off here) is that its just the opposite of that.
So for example, some might say 'its too hand holding I prefer something like Mount and Blade or Kingdom come or Arma 3'
but I am speaking out of my element I will admit

I like that you can't just run in the middle of a mob of enemies and expect to survive with button smashing.
@nomadic8280: I replied to you in another other thread explaining why I dislike the combat of the game but you never replied to me.
It can be found here.
It gives you way less options than most action RPGs I've played. It's not as robust or deep as something like Nioh or pure action games like Bayonetta. Full thoughts are in that post if you are interested.

yeah that would not be acceptable at least for me

My favorite game is Demon's Souls, beat Bloodborne over a dozen time + DLC and I loved Nioh fantastic multilayed combat system > your insecurity over defending a game with Micky Mouse ABC combat.
You really trying to argue people criticize TW3 combat because it's too complex or difficult for them???
Yeah I've played the Souls games. Different and challenging in their own way. They aren't perfect combat systems themselves either. If the people saying TW3's combat is horrible are also people who believe Soulsbourne is the be-all, end-all of third person gaming combat, then that's pretty lame.
ALL THAT BEING SAID, Dark Souls aren't open world, the game seems built around the physics of the combat system, with TW3 the combat system seems adapted into the physics of the completely open world. And when you consider how it stacks up with the other open world games' combat, its impressive.
Completely different types of games. Why bother comparing? I know GOW has some light rpg elements but it stays a hack and slash at its core.... The witcher may be one of the best RPGs of the gen, but it sure as hell isn't the best hack and slash game.
No, not really.
Both =
lol at "completely different"
The only thing really separating them is the genre they are derived from, but they share more in common than not. It's really quite silly to argue otherwise when it's easy to see the base components of both games are 1 for 1 outside of the world and the characters.
Well alrighty then. The HBO series game of thrones wins since it basically fits most of these categories too.
Witcher 3 by a mile. The crafting, upgrades, leveling are all just better in Witcher, the story is better in Witcher since it jsut has so much more, and side quests are storylines of their own. Not just "free a dragon, find some bones, etc". Combat is better in GOW overall, but upgrades for combat are better in Witcher 3. GOW is like a almost linear style game, not true open world IMO, with a much smaller map area. I like both games, but W3 is GOTG for me.
