[QUOTE="arinya"]What about quallity control and encouraging 3rd party devs to make better games and less/no shovelware/ports!!!

He said quality is subjective and that they are working with devs to help them get the most out of the Wii's hardware
I hope he's right about that.http://gonintendo.com/?p=31593 Some key points: 1. No ability to stockpile systems 2. Worldwide production has been upped twice since launch 3. GameStop to make "raincheck program" available guaranteeing "tens of thousands" of people their Wii in January 4. Average Wii user is 29 years old 5. 50% of total Wii production goes to NA 6. Wii attach rate matches PS2 at this point in its lifetime 7. Online voicechat a possibility 8. 3.5 attach rate overall 9. Virtual sellout of Wii Zapper 10. Supply issue is with demand, not manufacturing components Interesting enough..Erkidu

so much fanboyism in one post.

You don't know that, so why even say it? 2. They haven't always had supply issues. How old are you? 12? 3. Good one. 4. No way to know that for certain, genius. 5. Good one. 6. Not really, but way to make things up. 7. Fair enough. 8. You're willingly ignorant, the worst of the fanboys. 9. You don't know that, so why even say it? 10. Not at all, actually. The GC was incredibly easy to find, but you wouldn't know that, seeing as you probably couldn't walk yet at the time.
Also, at this time last year, the 360 had a 5.2 attach rate.
Meanwhile, according to Gamestop, the Wii had about a 3.0 attach rate when it launched.

360 owns at game sales
Since the rest of your post is pure speculation, I can shoot down this one.6. o really the ps2 had pretty crappy launch titles like summoner an crap, the wii held back 2-3 triple a gamecube games to release righgt when the wii launchedProtossRushX
DOA 2 Hardcore - 8.9
Madden NFL 2001 - 9.1
Tekken Tag Tournament - 9.6
SSX - 9.4
Time Splitters - 8.4
Smugglers Run - 8.0
Midnight Club - 8.4
Ready 2 Rumble Boxing Round 2 - 8.0
MotoGP - 8.0
NHL 2001 - 8.0
Unreal Tournament - 8.2
I'd say the PS2 had an amazing launch.
Oh and TC I prefer if youhad titled the thread"Myth's Debunked"
These really aren't stereotypes...thats not the right word.

Nintendo quality control pissed a lot of developers off back on the snes, the same developers then went to the PS1 where people actually spent good money on the crap...
Encouraging and helping these 3rd partys is a great idea, but not letting them publish their games is not and both Playstations prove this because although they have a immense library, the vast majority of it is crap that serves to help the gems shine brighter.

Way to go, post a link to a blog from LAST YEAR. I'm pretty sure nothing has changed in a year.. What are they at now? Got a link for that one?
[QUOTE="Bread_or_Decide"]Well, Wii-haters always say that only kids play Wii - so that is a stereotype... But, fixed. :POh and TC I prefer if youhad titled the thread"Myth's Debunked"

Cool! It just flows better...but that's besides the point...I think the real secret is...kids don't play the Wii because it's not cool to like anything your parents like. Thats why I never believed kids were actually playing the Wii.
Plus Nintendo fans have grown up with Nintendo and they are definetly in their late twenties at this point. But that average age seems high. Where did they get these numbers? If they visited an old folks home it could be skewing the average too high.

True enough. I've been playing Nintendo consoles since the beginning. Always been a fan of their franchises.[QUOTE="shadowfox55"]Tc to make a quick note Nintendo stated voice chat is a possibility, but not fact of whether or not it is going to be done. ErkiduI included "voicechat a possibility" in my original post. :|Yeah, but he was just making it clear that it wasn't set in stone.
"Reggie talks about online voice chat for Wii - changes constantly happening, online voicechat is possible. It comes down to finalizing a peripheral. The fact that the mic is on the DS shows that Nintendo is interested. It is certainly something Nintendo is looking into, and Reggie wouldn't be surprised to see it hit the system."
SSBB better support voice chat if they're gonna add the feature.

Voicechat in SSBB would own Earth. :)"Reggie talks about online voice chat for Wii - changes constantly happening, online voicechat is possible. It comes down to finalizing a peripheral. Just wondering because Nintendo is user friendly I doubt they would include voice for the reason to protect their consumers. Like how SSBB will not show names of the people a person will face on-line. Or does not include any texting.
I can see it now..the Nintendo voice chat mic. Another peripheral to add on top of the 50 others.
Bread_or_Decide
You mean besides the Nunchuk, Classic Controller, and Zapper?
How are those different from the wireless mic, the keyboard add-on, the Scene-It controller, the webcam, the rechargeable battery, the expanded hard drive.....?
[QUOTE="Erkidu"]4. Average Wii user is 29 years oldEntwineXYep. 50% are 8 year olds and the other 50% are 50 year old.
Yeah, no way to figure out how they came up with that number. Could've asked school's and old folks homes to get it. Who knows.

I would think that if Nintendo did carry out a survey, then its purpose was to conduct an unbiased study to find out the real complement of their userbase so that they could adjust their marketing strategies accordingly. I seriously doubt that they would intentionally sabotage such an important and useful tool for the sake of placating rabid message board fanboys.
