I have noticed something over the years. As graphics become better in video games, the characters you play as get uglier and uglier. Look at Marcus Fenix, look at all those characters in various Western action games, and you will notice some pretty damn ugly people. Of course, the reason for all this is because graphics have improved to the point where we can see skin pores in Battlefield 3 on max PC settings. But you know, some developers exaggerate these features too much. Not everybody on Earth has ugly blemish, skin pores, acne, zits/pimples, wrinkles, scruffy neckbeards, scars, freckles, rough skin and all that ugly stuff. So why do developers keep adding all these "features" in all our games, to make our characters look hideous? Why can't I play as a handsome character? Why are female characters the only ones who are beatuiful, while male characters look like cavemen who haven't bathed in 5 years?
When I played Skyrim, I decided to play as a Khaajit instead of the human-like races. It was funny to play the game, comparing my beautiful tiger face to all of the ugly human characters I meet in my travels. Tiger beauty >>> human beauty :P
So, what do you guys think? Do you prefer playing a handsome character? Or do you prefer to bypass humans altogether and play other races like tiger-men, lizard-men, wolf-men and all that? :)
