Waiting for the Miyamoto keynote to start, I’m sitting three rows from the front. Close enough to see Nintendo’s resident BMOC, Reggie Fils-Aime at the front of the crowd, working it with his trademark smile and good will. He poses for pictures, he signs Wiimotes, he presses the flesh with a good natured ease that would make even the most seasoned politician weep with envy.

“Kick his ass and take his name!” someone shouted from a few rows behind me.

“Who?” answered Reggie in mid-autograph.

“Phil Harrison, front row!” Sure enough, there was Phil Harrison, seated dead center, front row. Looks like he could show up on time for Nintendo’s keynote, but not Sony’s.

With a grin and a chuckle, Reggie replies, “Some would say we’ve already done that.”

Touchdown. The crowd goes wild.

JESUS!!! This is the sort of stuff why I LOVE Reggie Fila-mis SO much! He's wry and sometimes dry sarcastic comments are right on the money and hilarious!!!!!

Well, Reggie have always been a little bit of arrogant and confident. However, unlike Certain Sony execs I won't name here, who seemingly have the talent to crap shaznit out of their mouth with nothing to back them up like Next gen don't start till we say so, we can sell 10 million consoles without games and I'll give you $1200 if you can find any PS3 on the shelves, Reggie comments always have a certain element of truth in them. In this case Harrison can't talk back or else he'll make himself look like a fool cause of the sales numbers. Yea, cows can say "bu...bu...Europe!" That ain't gonna cut it though! Especially in Japan!

Well, he does have a point and Reggie obviously loves to needle Sony because of all their royal screw ups the past few months. Although I will admit Playstation Home is a good idea, it's not enough to help with the $600 price tag. Sony needs to get the games out, games like MGS4 and FFXIII and White Knight Stories. The end result is pretty apparant right now. The Wii, which is something no one gave a snow ball chance in hell against the much more powerful X360 and PS3 is wiping the floor with the PS3 and taking it to school sales wise! PS3, a console that many pegged as the king once again floundered sales wise and Sony's gaffs didn't help much either. I think this was what Reggie trying to do, remind Harrison how quickly things can turn in hurry in this business.
