Speaking as a Canadian, I think the surplus is only in the US.  I haven't seen a PS3 sitting anywhere since immediately after Christmas.  Even then they were gone that same day.  I haven't seen a PS3 anywhere in my city since.

I think Sony is oversupplying the US intentionally because they think it will keep them competitive against the 360.  Of course, they are screwing everybody else and only end up hurting the consoles image in the US.  Meeting demand doesn't move consoles...releasing games moves consoles.  That was what MADE sony.  I still remember getting my launch PS1 before the world even knew anything about it, and it came with a demo disk with a couple games as well as some new Sony music to listen to (ie. Korn).  The cd portion opened with a voice stating that SOny is all about games and lots of them.  Now it appears that isn't the case.  Which is hurting them more than the price I think.

I was just about to say, if people here would use a fraction of their brain, they'd probably catch on that the 20gig versions are selling and they are hard to find. 60gig versions are everywhere.

Hmm maybe its a Texas thing. I live in SA, Texas and I have been to my local Wal-Mart, Target, and Best buy and I have seen a few 20GB units and some 60GB units.

Like I said before...PS3 be it the 20GB or 60GB version does not have the demand to be having shortage problems. The 360 had shortage problems for both units for awhile after launch, the Wii has shortage problems not the PS3.

Every single store I was in (that sold systems) in the states last week always had PS3s in stock, other than the first 1-2 weeks there was a shortgage now they're everywhere
