I'm guessing that some of the hype over Brawl will die down by the end of the year and some other good releases will put it in perspective. A great game, nothing else.

what game won GOTY 2006 ? Gears of War... And belive me when I tell you that Geow 2 will be so mutch better then gears of war one. You say you are laughin becouse GEOW2 could be a conteneder and Geow won GOTY once but you aint laughin about SSBB beeing contender when the topic creator is comparing it to SMG a whole different game...

Which will be good, but is follwing only 2 years after Gears of War, Which usualy results in lower scores and or less hype. You don't see biannual games wining GOTY ever...
i think littlebig planet deserves to win because its never been done before spore has a good cance but super smash bros brawl just looks like a old arcade game to me nothing special about ittoast_burner
How does it get such high scores? Low standards, obviously. I'm sorry but we have GTA IV this year, Starcraft 2, Empire: Total War, Spore, MGS4, Gears of War 2(sequel to the Game of the year) and Fable 2. Wii's brawl will barely get nominated.
