Maybe not, but imo it would definitely be deserving of the spot if it did. Important thing is you enjoy it ;). It looks fun for sure to cause some mayhem, but I wonder for how long. I may give it a go.

I made the same mistake with WotR. I was highly disappointed with it but I was blown away with this game if it helps any. whats the combat like, how big are the maps and what kind of multiplayer modes are there?

Anyway I bought it on release day and I don't think Steam will give me a refund even though I only played it for 70 minutes the most of which was me crashing, experiencing ridiculous framerates, and dealing with graphical artifacts flooding my screen.

I don't know about unpolished games, Steam does this many times, Valve doesn't really test the games so you can get a buggy mess being sold for full price on Steam.

Look at the cheap animations, poor visuals, and muffled sound. The game lacks any sense of refined polish and production value. Whether you want to believe it or not, these are important factors when considering a game for GOTY. And apparently it's multiplayer only? There's another strike against it. I've made some bad predictions in my time but yours right here outdoes them all.
I don't know what the game is, I was looking down for some posts to describe it before I even clicked on the link. All I needed to read was "multiplayer only" to instantly lose all interest and claim, no way can it be game of the year.
Discovered this just yesterday. Seems like the kind of stabby slicey medieval stab n slice simulator I could get into. Just looks like it's got a good feel to it.
Buy from the developer, get Steam key, for less money if you're not American, developers get more money.

If you're interested in that game you should get it close to release. Got a feeling that it's not gonna catch on too hard. It looks good and all that, but it's in the same play space as Battlefield and such. It basically is a Battlefield mod from what I've seen of it. Which is nice, since those no longer exist.

so i bought chivalry today and i am more than satisfied. the combat is fun and there is nothing more satisfying than knocking a knight's helmet off with a mace and them removing his head from his body with my sword. this game has been awesome in the 2 hours i've played today
