that's because SMG1 got goty in 2007, and RDR was just too phenomenal a game to not give GOTY to. SMG2 was good fun but it was ultimately little more than more levels for SMG1

Nothing...NOTHING will beat Portal 2 IMO. Not to mention you are disregarding Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Yes it scored an 8.5 but last year Heavy Rain was also nominated and that scored an 8.5 as well so Deus Ex also has a chance as well. Although I do agree, Skyrim might take home the gold. Even if it doesn't I'm sure it may take home the Users GOTY...or not. Really, still early to tell. We've STILL got major fall releases coming in so it's anyone's game.

And Bethesda games are unplayable at launch it might be decent game after a year with mods

every preview of the game has said that the combat is vastly improved over oblivion, and gameplay videos certainly exemplify that
