I played the demo of Gran Turismo 5 and I played GT5 Prologue but even though its a racing sim the cars arent realistic. They LOOK real but when you drive them you dont hear the engines sound, nor do you feel any sense of speed. In NFS:Shift you would feel like your going super fast when your going 130mph because that IS fast and it would feel fast in real-life. In the GT5 demo and prologue it felt like I was going very slowly, I would barely hear the engine and I would just see things passing by very slowly yet when I looked down I would see that im almost going 200mph (in prologue). Any idea if they are going to fix this? I would LOVE to get GT5 but honestly if this is how the game is gonna be then that love its ALL gone because it is just boring.

well you're not the first to complain about this, it's actually one of the most talked about thing from people who aren't used to playing GT games
and imo it's an accurate description, compare GT5p to rFactor in a formula 1 car being compared to real life:
GT5p vs. real life @ Sazuka
vs.
rFactor vs. real life @ Monza
having played both games - both with the same input (logitech wheel) i can safely say that rfactor is a lot more intense when you get up to top speed while it's very very easy to judge what's ahead in GT5p, i think the fact that GT series tends to have wind noise drone out engine noise doesn't help the sense of speed either
at least i noticed in the GT5 time trial demo, when you switch to cockpit view the camera moves around with the head of the driver rather than simply being a static flying camera like in GT5p, so that's an improvement
