Not only do the cars look better then any other racer out there but the backrounds are pretty good looking to. The London track for example has to be on of the most beautiful courses in the game or any racer for that matter.

Nope it's a shot from a website.
i think the cities in grid look better. pgr4 to. but yeah, the cars look phenomenal Always-Honest
[QUOTE="Chutebox"][QUOTE="Sgt_Grig"]yeah, too bad about the gameplay. wish they took some pointers from Forza.:(Sgt_Grig
It's always easy to tell who has and hasn't played the game yet.
i know, you should play Forza dude. your missing out.
Oh good one. Except I have and it was alright.
The one problem I have with GT is I really, really dislike the soundtrack. We need to be able to use our own music and asap! I wanna race to Battery!
yeah, too bad about the gameplay. wish they took some pointers from Forza.:(Sgt_Grig
What exactlly don't you like about the gameplay? Not only does it have an arcade style of racing but there's also the performance racing were you tune your cars and all the cars drive totally different for a more realistic racing experience.

The problem with the gameplay to him is it's not on the 360.

wouldve loved if they copy-pasted the customizable options from forza, the online gameplay deserves a big facepalm (though GTTV sounds interesting), shouldve added something like the "Auction house", hitting a wall at 150mph and bouncing off unharmed and driving through the grass instead of taking a sharp turn is welcomed in a sim.....right? the in car view is AWESOME, too bad when your actually trying to play the game its actually blocking half the screen. i wont mention the lack of tracks and cars since its only a demo (thats 40 bucks) but ill judge the full when it comes out.
its not that Gran turismo is really poor or anything, it just feels dated compared to other modern games. but hey, atleast it looks good, cause thats all that matters. :)

Lol, gameplay is exellent in both gt and Forza, but somehow gt is more fun IMO.[QUOTE="Always-Honest"]i think the cities in grid look better. pgr4 to. but yeah, the cars look phenomenal Chutebox
I gotta disagree man. I just looked at Grid, I don't see the big deal about those environments?
looks pretty good to me

in reality, i don't think the envirionments from one game will look much better than the other ... as long as it's all beievable while racing i guess.

Good point, Xbox live support, Cross game invites, Custom Soundtracks, Achievements, Universal friendslist, and the 360 controller instead of the six axis wouldve improved the experience alot.

Controllers? How can any Sim be played with a controller? I gotta lol at the people that talk about "simulation" and play it with a controller. (dont get me wrong, you can play a racing game with a controller, but then dont talk about simulation and gameplay).

zomg, gotta getz me the wheel, and six monitorz all around me and one under me, and a vibrating chair and then a fan to blow a wind in ma face....."TRUE SIM"
how does what you play with figure into the fact that the game itself lacks all these features?? will a wheel fix the online lag and make the cars stop jumping around the track?

dumb comments=dumb responses. you figure out the rest
Zee irony.
btw, adding Live support wouldve probably fixed the horrble lag. (cars jumping around the track affects "gameplay", if you were wondering)

Wow, are you serious dude? How will that help since Live is P2P also?
Its a good lookin game, but you have to minus points for slowdown (london, eiger track, suzuki sppedway) and v-sych (mainly London)
and yes, i do own it, before anyone asks. I dont expect cows to agree, when they deny the piss poor framerate of Lair.
Bazfrag
Yeah I am not really understanding the point of these tracks. Kinda hard to actually race on them.

a p2p service that gave me smooth gameplay when i was playing Forza2. and thanks to headsets, made it seem like i wasnt playing against a bunch of nameless bots
Just keeps getting better. Keep it up man!
Renegade, I haven't gotten to those tracks yet. Is it bad online with the framerate or offline also?
Yes we can all see it is a great looking game. I have had it a few weeks now and it does really suck online, even with the two patches we have had to download. It is really broken. Barrier penalties, shortcut penalties, collision penalties, lag and my favouite flaw is driving through an out of control ghost car only to have it turn solid at the last moment. The last time I played it online I went to drive through an out of control ghost car and got shunted into the barrier when it turned solid and then received a barrier penalty which then stops the accerlation for 4 seconds. I can not remember the last time a game got me so frustrated.
It has made me go back and play Forza 2 more. It has made me realise how good Forza 2 is and how poor GT5:P is.
So forget GT5 and bring on Forza 3.

Framerate is no problem it's just that the way the tracks are designed especially London you can't really race on them because of all the quick turns and no straight aways.

Ah, gotcha. Thanks bud.
Yes. Its beautiful. Thats about it. No customizable cars. Tracks were boring .Online sucked and was so laggy it made Geow online look smooth. The cars just disappear and then come out of nowhere in front of you.
I can't believe I spent $40 on this piece of trash. Hey at least it proved to me that GT5 is not worth my money. Back to Forza 2.

Well the barrier penalties I can understand. The shortcut penalties I don't know what the **** they were thinking. I can agree with some of the other stuff you side like the cars going invisible only until you get close enough to hit them. Another thing I didn't like was someone rammed me in the back at full speed once and I get a collision penalty. :? I hope some of these things don't make it to the final version of the game. One thing I do notice though if you play in the performance races things are alot less hectick as drivers have to be more careful or they will pay for it.
GT5P is not only beuatiful to look at, its gameplay is great... I dont understand the bashing its getting from PS3 haters... Also please dont compare it to Forza2 or PGR4, i played both of them and though they are excellent games, GT5P is so much better..
The only reason or people to bash this game is either they are not into racing games or else its just because they hate PS3...
Yes the game is good looking but it also have jaggies even at 1080p and the environments are pretty poor. After playing crysis I'm not sold with this game.
What I really like is that the game runs silky smooth.

Yup, damn good looking game. Still debating whether to get it or wait til the full version is out. Leaning towards prologue though :P

The simple fact that X360 doesn't allow you to use 3rd party accessories like the G25 logitech wheel. That alone means GranTurismo will offer a better experience.
